Honestly i'm surprised there is not an option to play as one. Other races I can understand not having a male/female option but not quarians as they have appeared in ME2.

I know it probably doesn't bother everyone but it doesn't feel normal to play as a female character for me and I would like to be a Quarian engineer or infiltrator. Everything else about the demo was surprisingly well done and i enjoy it.

Just wanted to see some other opinions on this subject and if you think there will be more multiplayer characters to choose from in the retail game.

It'd make uneven to have one more character to play as in 2 classes, but not in the others, so wait for a DLC, =)

I'm with the OP on this. I was originally intent on having a male quarian as my character prior to demo release, and was heartbroken when I discovered they weren't available. I stand on the side of the male quarian to be added to multiplayer and will do so as long as I have breath in my lungs.

You are not alone, OP, there are more of us, I assure you. Perhaps if we get a proper petition going, we could actually get biowares attention.

I kind of agree. I don't really want to play one, but I do think they should be be an option.

Why not just make a M/F option for each race that its known to be possible...M/F humans all have the same ability set why does there have to be 2 entire character slots just for the gender. same abilities bleh. i dont see why a simple switch button would be so hard to make instead.

Well, if a petition is to be started, I am definitely going to be on it. I was heartbroken myself when I found there was not an option. I can see DLC happening, and I will probably buy it, but it will be rather disappointing that I will pay for something I would have thought been included in the game.

Most Quarian men stay in the kitchen while the women do everything. That's why all the important Quarian tend to be female.

Is there really any important quarian besides Tali?

Admiral Daro'Xen seems to be important and is voiced by Claudia Black. The latter makes her instantly important.

I also agree with this. Humans and Quarians though seem to be the only races in which this would be possible as of now. I have read quite a few requests for female Turians, but not much has been provided for their appearance. I do think they can be done, but less so than Quarian/Human gender switch option

Too late to add them in the main game now, DLC. They wouldn't have the recorded voices for M Quarian banter nor the specific combat animations required.

I agree they should have added it in the first place but I also think its a waste to have separate male/female human slots. There should be a button to switch the gender and leave it for one slot.

Kal'Reegar resents those accusations.

Maybe the Infiltrator should've been a male and the Engineer otherwise. That sounds good.

In ME2, almost every quarian in ME2 was just there to be part of Tali's story, and if you didn't recruit her, they wouldn't appear at all, so imo she was the only actually important quarian, but that may change in ME3 assuming she can die and Shepard needs their help.

Except for the considerable amount of marines, who end up busting their balls and getting outnumbered and slaughtered because Tali decided she wanted to sunbathe on Haestrom... Everyone always forgets the marines, poor Kal'Reegar...

Agreed, I have never thought that a female quarian would be a good assassin, engineer yes, but whenever I think of a quarian infiltrator, I just imagine Reegar wearing black and trading his missile launcher for a sniper rifle.

Kal'Reegar invalidates all further arguments against. ;)

Anyways, considering the majority (note Majority, not all) of the Migrant Fleet Marines are men from what we've seen, and in the MP we're playing as Special Operations Agents, I'd say they are the only other race (besides possibly the Turians, but I never paid much attention to them anyways.) that should also have both genders as an option, considering we've seen both genders in game and they aren't leaving one gender behind due to gender imbalance (Female Krogan and Female Salarians stay on their homeworlds, remember?)

So really, I feel the only reason they have only female Quarians is Tali Fanservice. Understandable but still: Who DOESN'T want to pretend to be as awesome as Kal'Reegar?

Chickenchasa, we meet again, remind me, how were you running with chickens with no heads in ME3s multiplayer? Baffling...

Seriously though, we could probably get a petition going and maybe see male quarians in the future of ME3. I'd do it, but for some reason, I'm not a people person, neither am I good at getting people to see things and it is 30 minutes past midnight, so I should probably get to sleep before I burn myself out...

Right, it's now morning and I'm alive again, so... how, uh, do we start a petition?
