 Like, seriously. I get nothing but sniper, SMG, and pistol upgrades. I'd love some Assault Rifle upgrades, but rarely get them. I have a lot of Scimitar upgrades, which is nice, but I'd also like some more charactrers/more colors. I saw some guy with the Claymore today, and am still in disbelief that anyone can get that lucky.

I swear, I am just cursed. Everyone else gets cool things, and I just systematically get garbage

I got Tempest, after Tempest, after Tempest until I reached Tempest VII.
That said, I did get a Krogan Soldier followed by a Turian Sentinel afterwards; and a Hornet SMG (which is awesome) a couple of Veterans beforehand.
I guess it's even.

My starter pack was great.

All the veteran packs I've bought since have been worse than the starter pack!

I'm up to freakin' Viper and Mantis IV (I don't really use sniper rifles), Mattock IV (which I'm okay with), EFFING Shurkien V with Heat Sink V, EFFING Predator V, and Scimitar V (which I'm also okay with).

However, I would like more characters and/or XP cards for more colors. I'm a Level 20 soldier and have bought many, many Veteran packs. Whoever came up with this programming is absolutely out of his mind.

Same here! I got the Salarian I mentioned in the starter pack, and I haven't gotten a character since. It also took me forever to get the Mattock, and I've seen newbs with it long before I had it. It's insane.

I am an Engineer, and the lats 5 Vet packs I have bought have been sniper upgrades. Im up to Mantis VIII and Viper VII.
Useless.

I'm saving up at the moment and will go on a vet spending spree once I'm done. Really I would just like to unlock more weapons, I don't have Asari or Drell but I don't really play biotic classes. I'd also like armor customization on my soldier and Salarian infiltrator.

Just keep at it. There's only so much stuff to unlock, and redundant unlocks will upgrade weapons and modifications up to L10 and L5, respectively. I have yet to receive a redundant unlock for something I have already maxed out, whether that is a class, gun or modification.

I have the Mattock, Phalanx, Scimitar, Tempest, Viper and Mantis at rank 10 but all i really want is the Widow.

Hopefully the more things I max out will make space for a new Vanguard or Infiltrator race.

I've unlocked a bunch of SMGs, which is fine because my first character is an Infiltrator, but I haven't unlocked any other races yet and I've bought tons of veteran and recruit packs. I'm going to keep buying pack after pack until I unlock an asari, I swear. Or any race, really.

You might have seen me man with my Claymore. Running it on both my Human Sentinel and my Human Fem Vanguard.

Got that one off my very first Veteran Pack, afterwards I got crap items. To date I still have not got an alien or any new MGs. Want something to replace my Avenger.

EDIT: For the Record N7 Rank 55. Maxed out my Engineer and got myself a lvl 17 Sentinel.

The random packs currently have my hatred. I get endless characters that were unlocked from the beginning and never any new ones, and only weapon upgrades for weapons I never use. I wish there was just a store where you could buy things that were actually useful instead of rolling the dice. >

i got the drell Vanguard from the vet packs and then i got him again same thing with upgrads

There not a terrible idea, keeps people coming back, i have a Quarian Engineer and a Krogan Soldier, would lve a Salarian Infiltrator or Turian Sentinel, but i just have to keep hoping. i will admit it does get annoying after a while though.

Vet packs have one more shot with me, and then it's back to recruit packs so at least I can load up on missiles. I got a Turian sentinel in my start pack and nothing nearly as awesome has shown up since. Well actually I did get a Mattock, but after careful research have decided that the Avenger really works better for the way I play MP.

Yep. You learn pretty quick to expect weapon upgrades. It's always nice to see a change of course but don't get your hopes up. Very rarely do you get a new weapon or race.

You'll be waiting for a while, as you can't unlock the turian soldier in the demo...

I like the packs and I can't wait on launch to see at least a dozen packs.

I'm still waiting on my first race unlock... It can be annoying when you don't get anything useful to your play style, but it is also kind of entertaining to open a pack and see what you get.
