Hey all, I just got the multiplayer demo of Mass Effect 3 and I've been a Bioware fangirl for 12-13 years now, so I've been playing it like an addict. :P But I'm having absolutely no luck unlocking new characters on either PC or Xbox. So far I've only gotten one Asari Adept on my PC after buying about 10 Veteran packs, and I didn't even get a new character in my Xbox Starter pack.

So I was wondering, does anyone have any idea what voice actors/actresses play the multiplayer characters? I'm a voice actor nerd, so I love recognizing people, but I haven't gotten the chance to hear hardly any of them. Has anybody recognized any voice actors so far?

And another quick question to people who have played way more than me and/or are way luckier with their unlocks, what are the different melee attack animations for each race/class? Just curious. I'm especially curious what type of animations Turian Soldiers have. Does it just look like the human melee animations?

Weird topic, I know, but I figured I might as well ask. :P

Turian Soldiers are not available in the demo. I'm curious too, I wonder if all characters have badass heavy melee like asari, or they just have the same as Shepard.

The drell seem to have the same voice actor as Thane, but I can't say for sure. Also drell vanguard biotic punches people. The turian sentinel pulls out two omni knives and slashes them to the sides basically.

Yeah, so the same as Shepard, that's not cool.

Nerana, quarians sound shockingly like Liz (Tali's VA) voiced them as well. Now I wonder why that could be...

Well Thane is the first drell to be seen and Tali was the first quarian to be seen. Maybe they want familiar voices, dunno. xD

Any chance to dig on Talimancers ah? lol
I guess fewer people will care about changing the VA for Tali...err...I mean Quarians in MP.

It is a sign of cost-conscious design that the dev team recycled the game VA clips for MP. I noticed it, which isn't a good thing, but I care little about it. VAs are expensive.

Just remembered that Salarians sound like Mordins VA too. It might be that they aren't the same VAs, but they just got Voices that were very similar.

I was holding out for Nolan North to voice... well, any of them, but no luck. XD I was hoping he'd be either humans or Turians...
I didn't know Turian Soldiers are unavailable in the demo, though. Darn. I was really looking forward to getting one of those.

I think the Krogans are voiced by Wrex, or at least someone very similar. It's definitely not Steve Blum (who voices Grunt), though, that much I can tell. I'm not sure who voices the Asari Adepts, but she sounds familiar. I'm sure she plays other Asari elsewhere in the ME games, but I'm not sure which ones.

I'm looking forward to seeing the credits for the voice actors. Here's a customization feature I'd love, though: different voice sets for your characters.

This. It kills me. I was hoping to get one and name him Garrus. My plans are falling apart...

I have been thinking about the same thing, too - I still think about it, in fact, even as a demo is now long gone and the actual game has been in the running.

Some characters may very well be the specie-specific main characters from campaign in concordance to voice actor, as some people say. A female quarian is assuredly an adaptation of Tali (with respective voice actor), as one example to point out. That may go the same for asari, as the voice is heavily resemblant to an excited Liara. Another thing to notice is the kiai given by human males and females when going for melee or power attacks - there's where a dramatic Mark Meer and Jennifer Hale come into play.

I may very well be biased, but I firmly believe multiplayer characters and their voice actors are an impression stemming from the minor characters of the universe. Turians sound like what an adrenalized Sidonus from Mass Effect 2 would, drell sound like a readied Kolyat Krios when not bent on assassination, salarians sound like Maelon's voice actor, and respective so forth.

I would check some databases for voice actors if interested. As for melee animations for the different characters, species in particular - turians -, you've got some dual omni-blade action going on. Turians have their own method of melee - unlike a Sentinel Shepard, who thrusts forward with dual omni-blades, Turians perform an outward lash.

Quite the necro here. This isn't what people mean when they say "post in existing threads".
