Of course, I have no data or particular logical reasoning to back any of this up, so it's just conjecture.
But I, too, am interested to see how this game will do. I think there is a lot of silent (or not too silent!) hope that this game will 'revitalize' the RPG genre, and we will enter another Golden Age of the RPG.
Here's hoping!

It may also depend on the reviews it gets from the major reviewers. Also, I'm not sure that RPGs are as much the niche market as some think (at least, in the PC world).

I think it's more like it's another fantasy game, there is another ancient evil to defeat sort of thing. But I do think it's going to do plus 1 Million combined on the Consoles and more than that on the PC.

Also one of the guys at that magazine have plaed for 40 hrs and only uncovered 22% of the game. Another, and this is rare for any game. Have plaed 121 hrs without encountering any bugs. That have to be a first for any game.
Even if the people that know today they will buy the game are hardcore fans. It will reach the masses. Either via word to mouth, or the gamestores top selling shelves.

I believe DA:O will be a huge hit. The score from the local PCGamer is 95%.

It is a good thing that this game is elling on the 3rd in U.S.A, a whole week before MW2 hits the shelves. Word of mouth is going to be strong for this game.

I'd guess a few million after the holidays.
If you are saying this game will sell 3 million odd copies in 2 odd months, I would say it is optimistic.

Saw two commercials for DA:O while watching the Packers vs Vikings game tonight. Nice to see them spending a few bucks on marketing.
Is it the world series ? Is there any other games that is being marketed, right now Uncharted 2 and Borderlands is being shown on TV in New Zealand.

Sorry about that, But I am a New Zealander so don't know what's up there in good ol U.S.A. But I think there were ads in the world series too.
