Simple solution, add a "(Recommended)" tag on RPG Mode.

Ex:  Action Mode
       RPG Mode (Recommended)
       Story Mode

Or just simply make the selection bar start on RPG Mode.

That's also a valid solution.

The role playing is a mixture of both action and story, thats why its in the middle. Now can the stupity stop already (who am I kidding it never will)

When I played the demo, I realized the order that the campaign modes are placed in. I wasn't too estatic over the multiple modes, but I don't understand why Bioware decided to put action mode above RPG mode. Here's a picture of what I'm talking about.

Let's say you have someone playing ME3 as their first ME game. When they see the mode screen, they won't know the original way to play Mass Effect 3. These days, some gamers are very quick about starting games, so they may not read what the other modes have to offer. They may pick Action mode simply because it's the first option, and they will end up missing out on everything that ME3 has to offer. The worst part is that Action mode has become the default mode for the single player aspect of the game. RPG mode should be the default mode (Since ME is an RPG) and should be placed above the other modes, thay way, newcomers know exactly how to get the complete experience. It seems as if the RPG aspect is diminishing already based on the gameplay. Adding action mode over the rest just makes it seem that action>rpg elements.

I understand that the list of modes is in alphabetical order, but they still don't give any indication of the traditional way to play ME3. Since some people won't be bothered with reading the descriptions, they will just pick action mode. Here's a good fix to the issue. If Bioware doesn't change the order, they could at least make RPG mode the default mode, or place a tag next to RPG mode that recommends that players choose RPG mode

That is like saying everyone SHOULD play male shepard... because his gender is first. Or you shouldnt play multiplayer because singleplayer is listed as first.

Give me a break...

I kinda understand both sides of the argument. It IS just the menu.

But on the other hand, if you're a new player, how are you supposed to know that RPG mode is the only mode that gives you the full experience?

This is a fun new strategy. Instead of posting in the thread to explain your opision, OP is just editing the topic, which almost no one is likely to read. It's creative.

Because.....because it says so. In plain english. Or whatever language your game is in. This like saying, what if people never knew you could make your character female. Aren't you really saying what if people who play the game are incrdibly dense. How can we help them?

EDIT: Beat me to it, chengthao.

By scrolling down and reading it for yourself. Honestly are we all assuming new players are 4 year olds who got dropped on their heads or something???

Considering that seems to be the general BSN opinion of "new players" - related to the impression that they all come from playing CoD or GoW - yes, I think we are.

Remember, kids, you're a bad person with an inferior intellect if you play those games!

Dear god, BSN, you really will bitch about the most petty, insignificant crap.

Fuck me dead, it is just the goddamn menu. Those inclined to simply pick what is at the top are likely the ones most suited to action mode anyway!

To people that have played the demo, it seems like just a menu, but people that are new to the series may pick action mode, thinking that it's the original way to play.

Who cares how others play? BW have given us the choice of playing a TPS or a TPS with a bit of dialogue; it's not like they're two dramatic extremes.

One mode gives you full control over your experience, while the other only gives you freedom in combat. I don't know about you, but choosing dialogue would seem like an important feature.
