Let me begin by saying that I love the class and skill structure of Mass Effect.  The interaction between the three primary classes and the three hybrids creates a rock, paper, scissors mechanic that is unmatched.  So why is it that the Adept+Engineer hybrid is now more of a Soldier than anything else?

While I do agree that the gameplay of the ME2 Sentinel was rather bland it did properly fill the hybrid role of the Adept+Engineer hybrid.  My issue is that Tech Armor is now a more of a hinderance to the Adept+Engineer hybrid role than a benefit.  Tech Armor should provide protection in a radius explosion when detonated or a benefit with either biotics or technics, not a penalty and more added protection.

The Sentinel was the physically weakest class and Tech Armor provided an added amount of protection without hindering the Adept+Engineer hybrid's other abilities.  Instead the Sentinel is now a Adept+Engineer+Soldier hybrid.  Can Bioware at least add a true Adept+Engineer hybrid?  I'm sorry but the Sentinel no longer fills that role, mostly due to the Tech Armor changes.

The Sentinel is the most versatile class. You have the option to be a tank, be the artillery, close combat, ranged combat, etc. But you have to spec your character correctly for your role, and you need to understand the combo explosions and resistances properly if you want to be the most effective.
