I just decided to make a thread where people could complain about how messed up an enemy wave was.

I faced a wave with five phantoms..on silver. Wave 9....WTF? Obviously we died.

3 phantoms on top of a stair on gold. Me and my friend tried to climb it to save another guy. The result wasn't very nice.

Wave 10 on a gold match on the Noveria map. My squad was trying to hack the terminal in the lower portion of the map inside the bunkers and we are getting mobbed by 4 Atlases, 5-6 Phantoms (couldn't be sure of the exact numbers) and at least half a dozen guardians plus a large force of mixed Assault Troopers and Centurions. To top it all off Combat Engineers had set up at least 4 Turrets in the room. It was ridiculous. We kept dying all in the same small spot. By some small miracle we managed to keep reviving each other long enough for the hack to finish. We didn't beat the wave but we did earn the credits for the hack.

It was either Wave 8 or 9 (was too busy avoiding anal rape by Phantom to note) on Silver, Operation Ghost. Saw an Atlas spawn inside the room across from the extraction point, shot a rocket at it, got 3 Atlas kills along with a whole bunch of other grunts. Mission Complete.

Nice spawning, BioWare.

I mostly stick to Bronze, because I'm not good at this at all. That said, I hit a lobby just as the host had changed it to Silver. We all head into Firebase White at the top of the ladder on the left side from the landing site. I like it here because I can usually check any direction pretty quickly where the enemy is coming from. My team mates had the same idea. Unfortunately, nobody was looking at the stairs to the immediate right of us and we got swamped with grenades. Yes, regular assault troopers took us all out. =]

Also, those eliminate target missions are tough in the later waves because enemies just seem to keep spawning before you can take that target out. Leave  engineers alone too long and suddenly you've got 4 turrets to evade too. Yikes.

I've got to say - it's really only the phantoms that are hard. Some of the enemies are annoying, but definitely easy. Gold is amazing. So many atlas and so many phantoms. 6 atlas and 10 phantoms running around? It gets a little ridiculous! But it's so much fun! I think our group was on wave 9 or 10 on gold. Wow. It just creamed us. It wasn't SO bad until then.

Phantoms aren't bad if you've got an Asari Adept in your crew. Engineers are the ones to worry about, since they spawn those those rediculously overpowered turrets. I've only managed to get through a Silver Wave 6, where it does that stupid "kill the enemy VIPs within a minute and a half" thing while make Engineers the targets, once and then my entire team (three guys) died on Wave 7.

Sometimes 3 turrets come together to define a 'triangle of death', from which there's absolutely no escape.

That, and the Phantoms. The Atlas is nothing if you've got missiles. On the other hand, without text chat, it's difficult to coordinate missile use within a group. (No group should use more than one missile per Atlas; perhaps those on the earlier waves shouldn't be 'missiled' at all.)

Oh yeah. Asari adept just toys with a phantom. I never had a problem with engineers. It's probably because I'm a salarian infiltrator. Cloak (+sniper damage bonus), then energy drain (basically drains all their shields) and shoot so that way you get the benefit of your cloak increase damage. I can basically one-shot engineers and their turrets so they've never been a problem. But the phantoms, for an inifltrator, are annoying. It's too hard to aim and snipe when they're so jump happy.

I think it's also the fact that I have the widow.

I have a general rule about missile use only Atlases. I only use missiles when...

1) The Atlas is the "priority enemy target" that needs to be killed in basically a minute.

2) The Atlas is sitting on the objective (terminal hack/extraction point).

With that being said, my last gold round had Wave 6 and Wave 10 (2 of 3 of the objective waves) as "kill the priority target"... and all 8 of the targets were Atlases. We beat the objective, but didn't survive >.<

I had an infinite wave in one of my early matches. We sat there for probably 30 minutes killing an infinite wave of targets before we finally bailed. Shame too...we were only like 2 waves from the end.

Played a Bronze Challenge round that got to Wave 10. The mission was to hold the point, so the entire team heads that direction. Inside the room is two turrets and a pair of phantoms. An Atlas was lurking around back. That one did not end happily.

6 atlas mechs, 8 phantoms, 6 engineers (4 set up turrets and the other 2 followed the mechs around healing them), centurions galore, and grenade spamming regulars. wave 8 i think. that was fun.

My weapons glitched and became invisible and wouldn't fire in wave 3 as a soldier. I could do nothing but throw grenades ans punch people. It wasn't fun.
