Also because the music 'the normandy reborn' played. Never underestimate the power of that song

It's uh in stealth mode. Yeah, that's it, see? The Reapers they uh, they don't have eyes, they have sensors. Yeah. And um, Harbinger... he's not there yet. Only he knows what Shep looks like. Yeah.

And the game would last about 20 minutes if we applied logic to every little thing in it.

Almost everything can be explained logically.

It wasn't destroyed because you didn't see it destroyed. Had it been destroyed, you would have seen it been destroyed. Thats why it wasn't destroyed.

Stealth systems + Reaper IFF + Battle chaos raging = The time to get away. If Relays can't tell between a Reaper and Human ship if they both have the same IFF, then likey the actual Reapers, machines themselves, would be confused long enough for the Normandy to make a getaway.

Because plot shield and the writer thought it was brilliant to throw the player of a sci-fi story in a unrealistic movie-b situation.

Well actually the codex states Harbinger lead the attack on earth, so he was there.

Because Harbinger wants to play mind games. He wants to make Shpeard watch as he and his Reapers rape and destroy everything he holds dear. "When Earth is in Ashes Shepard, you have my permission to die"

I'll say EDI was able to temporarily fool the sensors using some variation of the Reaper IFF. I simply say that to myself and hit the "I Believe" button in my brain. That's how I sleep at night.

Because the Reapers know how awesome a pilot Joker is, so they didn't even bother to shoot the red laser beam at the Normandy. They just destroyed the shuttles (including the one with the Kid). They would have missed the Normandy if the tried because no one flies better than Joker in the Mass Effect unvierse. How is that explanation? Lol.

Yes, but he was in London, having a nice cup of afternoon tea.

And the reason why the normandy wasn't destroyed was because it wasn't prioritized. The reapers don't think of us as a threat, even Shepard and the normandy isn't a threat so they probably go by proximity, number of people killable, and most likely they kill civilians first because they might run and hide whereas a military craft will in 99% of the cases make a futile attack on them later anyway.

Because BioWareEA™ wants the (simple) gamer to be emotional engaged™. To show how sad :crying: Shepard is, even though it makes no sense for Renegade "I kill people for fun" Shepard to be :crying:.

It's funny seeing people defend it with nonsens like stealth or reaper IFF. Did you even read the codex in ME?

I see this misconception is still floating around, renegade Shepard does not kill for fun, he kills to get the job done, it's you as the player who kills for fun.

No, it's because everyone on board would have died and the game would have ended.

You, Sir, are a genious. How do people not understand this? There doesn't have to be some lore that backs it up. It's a game. There are certain things that happen in games to facilitate story.

The Star Wars trilogy would've been short lived if the Storm Troopers could actually aim.

It would take too much effort to explain, suffice to say, his reasoning for being renegade is because he has lost patience, that does not mean he has lost feeling, best example I can think of at this moment in time is Dirty Harry, I'm sure there are better examples.

Yeah, Plot shield is the most powerful shield in the galaxy. Reaper weapons don't stand a chance.;)
