Hi,

Ive got some feedback on the multiplayer demo and also some questions that I would appreciate if people could answer.

Feedback
1)  Option to play with only people of comparable levels
Far too often I enter a lobby on silver and there other people with characters who are too weak.  There appears to be both character and player levels.  I understand that people need to start somewhere and also like to start new characters, but there is a time and place for it (bronze).  Its tolerable to a degree, say, if your playing silver and someone who is level 30 has a level 7 character.  But when the is a level 5 player with a level 5 character you won't be able to survive.  It would be great if there was an option to only be put into lobbies with other users who either a) have already sucessfully completed the level of difficulty one step lower, or B) are no less than 5 character levels lower than you.

2)  Scale for the number of enemies/fill dropped spots
Sometimes people drop out and are not replaced, and sometimes a lobby is unable to get 4 players.  It would be great if the game would be able to either a) always fill empty spots mid way through a round, or b scale the number and skill of enemies for less players.  I'm not sure how filling empty spots works exactly, I have never joined a game mid way through but I think some games Ive been in have had an empty spot filled.

Questions
1)  How exactly does unlocking stuff work?
Are unlocked item universal?  ie if you unlock an item with one character is it available for use by all characters?  Do you need multiple copies to use with multiple characters?  I'm fairly sure all items are universal and you only need one copy.

2)  Is it ever possible to unlock an item you already have?  Because if not it would seem to me that the recruit pack is of far greaer value as it gives you 4 times as many things.  In my experience the vetren pack items don't even seem to be that much better and ive got the same item twice in a row (ie version 2 and 3 of a gun) from a recruit and a vetren pack.

Thank you!

Unlocks are completely random and the items are universal but some characters will find no use for them. Like if they get a power bonus and the person only uses his gun. or vice versa. Or you unlock a sniper rifle and you don't use them. I don't think you'll ever get an item twice. Besides the bonuses of course. Although, if you get the same gun or weapon mod, it'll be upgraded instead of having a duplicate.

The only thing not universal is the occasional "class XP" things you'll get from buying the packs.

yeah i totally agree with your first point of feedback. it's really weird going from being the worst player in my squad in one match to being the best by far in the next.

also, i could be wrong, but i seem to keep unlocking the same stuff which is really annoying. i've purchased about 12 veteran packs too and seem to have gotten really lame items in them. is there any kind of secret to unlocking more playable species faster? like i said i have purchased around 12 vet packs so far and have not been given a single species unlock :(

sorry to put a question in my response, total forum noob

I have noticed you can get the XP thing multiple times.  But yeah otherwise my experience has been that I have not gotten an item twice (not counting upgrades where you get level 2, then level 3).

What I'm basically trying to figure out is what is better, the recruit or vetren pack.  And it certainly seems like the recruit is better as you earn items 4 times faster, so youll end up getting everything in the end anyways.  And it doesn't even seem like the rarer items are that much better.

Hey Gtx3,

Just to confirm:
1. Item unlocks are universal but as mentioned some items have no use to other classes.
2. It is not possible to unlock an equip-able item you already have such as "Weapon 1 [I]" (but you can still unlock "Weapon 1 [II]" ).

That being said each pack has the opportunity to unlock consumables and as you gain more and more items from each pack you're more likely to pull consumables as there are fewer useful items in that item (quality) category.

Thanks for the response.  Are there any unlocks that can never be gained from the recruit pack?  The description seems to indicate that it is still possible to get rare items from the recruit packs.  Either way I guess it makes most sense to switch to vetren packs once I have most of the unlocks.

Is it just me, or in the demo are not all classes included in the packs? The same for weapon mods?

I unlocked something for a Female Human Vanguard. It just so happens I was using it. I have yet to ever see the XP pack again:(
I'm pretty sure they're available for all classes, only they're rare and you have to get lucky.
IMHO, it's unfair how the system works

okay i have sinking feeling that the random character unlocks go by you level of the character you are playing:
like for today i was playing my level 12 infiltrator human, after getting my first veteran pack for today after hitting 12 on her, i got a salerian infiltrator same damn level as my human..

then i switched to my adept to level him for a bit {yes he a human} and as soon as i hit 19 i get enough credits up to get another veteran pack and bam once again a new character asari level 19
so i don't know if it goes by matching you level to the rare character but these are the very first rare characters i gotten for the week { with exception to the starter pack when i got a tuarin sentinel, but from then on nothing at all except humans thats it of random classes

You level up per class, not per character.

So if you get the default human engineer to say lvl 10, all of the other races' engineers will also be at lvl 10.

Well put it like this, I'm either really lucky or I've been able to unlock one new race for each class, some repeatedly, and various human ones correspondent to the already available ones, but not the locked gender. The odds that this can happen if the other classes are also available are very very low
