Hey

I am starting my 2nd playthrough with a rogue, but i would like to know some tips because i don't really know what to do/where to start.
I was thinking about a dagger/dag with dext/cun, with the hotfix.  So far, i have 25dext, and 15cun (i don't know if i need it know).

Is this a good build ?

DW-sweep => momentum
DW training => expert
Dirty fighting, combat mouvement. Should i upgrade this line of talents to feign death ?

And what specialisation should i choose ? I was thinking about assassin then duelist.

Thanks for helping. Posted Image

Yes, that is good. You'll want 20 strength to be able to wear drakeskin armor, no more.

I never bothered with feign death and never felt like I needed it, though I had combat stealth.

Pump your Dex, and stay with light armor and fast weapons.

My Dex is 46 and cun is only 26. My hit rate is 92% and contrabution is at 41%, only 9 points from doing HALF the damage combined. With 4 party members you should be, on average 25%.

Dex keeps you from being hit, light armor keeps you hitting fast and more often than your foe.

Cun is used for some rogue abilities so keep an eye on that as well. Even with the Dalish armor, the High Dragon missed me several times, but nailed Alistair almost every time, Wynne was buisy just keeping him alive.

Increase your str just enough to use the weapons/armor you want.

Every now and then I will put a point into willpower just to bump my stanima a bit.

At least it all works for me.

Personally, I think dexterity is a better dump stat for rogues than cunning. Cunning will (once you get lethality) increase your damage with a high cunning score. But strength is still used as 50% of your attack calculation. You can make up for a lower strength by raising your dexterity very high. So raise cunning to 40, then leave it be (40 cunning allows you to pick all locks/disarm all traps with three ranks of the lockpicking/disarming tree, and pass all persuade options with only three ranks in coercion.) Keep strength at 20, and aside from a small amount in willpower, put the rest into dexterity.

Thank you :)

Now, i don't really know who to take with me.

I was thinking about getting alistair + another warrior, then wynne.

2warriors will allow my rogue to stay in backstab position, but one mage, specialised in healing, won't be of much help.

What do you think ?

My dagger rogue...I ended up using momentum and 2 weapon sweep in the end.

Flurry is bad, it slows you down.

Of course pick up the 2 weapon mastery that lowers stam costs.

After you get a prerequiste of strength, I did a 2 dex, 1 cun every level.

I didn't bother with combat stealth nor feign death.

Specs were: Assassin/Duelist.

Max out the Dueling tree, auto-crits are nice, and so is a bonus to hit.

Max out the Evasion tree, not getting hit is god as this character also works as an off-tank (and in certain situations, better than a sword/board fighter).

Assassin was useful for Mark of Death on occasion.

I generally mix and match one mage with 2 warrior/tanks (sten, alistair, golem, dog). Wynne is probably more useful, but Morrigan is better to look at ;)

Which ability is used for Intimidate? I seem to pass all Intimidate checks but fail almost all persuasion checks. I don't have any points spent in Coercion so I understand not passing the Persuasion checks, but I figured I would fail the intimidate checks as well.
