I imported a few characters from ME1 to ME2 and played them all through once. I am now playing them through the second time and when I finish a character and go to load a new one I've noticed that I have 2 of the same character as an option to load. Can I delete the version of the character with the earlier creation time or do I need to keep both?
EX: I have a charater named John and a character named Jack. They have both been played through twice. I went into the 'Import ME2 Character' option to load Apollo for his second playthrough and I see...
John Shepard (created 2005)
John Shepard (created 2012)
Jack Shepard (created 2005)
Jack Shepard (created 2012)
Apollo Shepard (created 2012)
**the actual dates are innaccurated I know**

I could be wrong but I don't belive you can delete any of tem. I had wanted to star from total scratch with 1. So I had deleted the entire gamer profile hoping to get rid of all my old characters to have room for the new ones. After playing thrugh with the first new character I went to import him into 2 and found that the old ones I though I had deleted where still there. I then started a new game on 1 using an old character and again there were all the sheps I thought were deleted when I deleted the gamer profile. So now I have about 18 sheps to choce from from mss effect one. That does not happen with ME 2. When I delete a character it stays deleted.

You can't delete something you can't see. ME uses a hidden save file for the import into ME2, and presumably for a new game plus in ME as well. There's a guide somewhere on the board for getting rid of them though.
