Quit being so ignorant. Prothy sounds like Mr. Eko from LOST, which means he has a powerful Nigerian voice.

I think it fits him, being from an old race. It also sounds more tribal-chief in nature, and commanding in its own right.

The Protheas were supposed to be a super-advanced high-tech race so the "tribal" thing doesn't fit. And saying a Jamaican or  Nigerian accent fits because they are an "old race" is just straight racist. I thought the forum rules don't allow racist talk. You should be ashamed of yourself.

I think it would have been both fitting and awesome if the Prothean talked in a more alien way, with the audio filtered somehow, to make it seem less "human."

Ok... Am i the only one disappointed by the way they look... Like freakin Collectors. Collectors were cool as hell, but they weren't Protheans. Im pretty damn disappointed. I don't like this at all...

If the tentacle faced folks weren't Protheans... Then they are now officially the big mystery of the game, next to the Reapers... I wanna know more about the Kthulu-looking people... They look SO , COOL! UGH! Can't believe those aren't the Protheans.

let me have a guess, he is a Prothean mind download into a collector body. since collectors are just mindless husks created by modifying Prothean body, and the Protheans have slept too long to have functional bodies. thats why he look like collectors

Did you play Mass Effect 2? Did you saw the three pages of the ME3 artwork about Prothy? I strongly suggest you read this thread from the beginning to the end to know why Prothy looks the way he does.

My mind is blown!  The Prothean looks AWESOME!! Great head-fake by Bioware on the codes for the Protheans. Innusonons!?!  Whoa.  Very cool.  I can't wait!!! 

I literally stumbled on the Prothean pic in an article about "From the Ashes" DLC.  Awesome!  I hope you can be a PROTHEAN IN THE MULTIPLAYER!!!!!

I was shocked too! 

But look at it this way: Husks look like the race they were transformed from.  You've seen the Banshees (Asari husks) right? I know you've seen the human husks from the last two games.  So they resemble the original race.

Can't wait to find out about the race pictured in the Codex!

Banshees are not Asari Husks.

Not all Asaris can become husks (Samara and Morinth can afaik)

i mean humans have tons of accents as do the quarians so why cant protheans have various different accents?

Uh, yes they were. It was stated quite clearly in ME2. 

They were a basis for Collectors... Not 100% the same in the end. This shouldn't even be discussed.
