Sprint, Cover, Dodge, Interact, and Revive.  All on Spacebar.  Really?

Which one of you thought of this brilliant concept?  Or was it a group brainstorm?

amazing game btw.

sarcasm?

Because its your action button. Commonly done on consoles...the almighty "A" button on Xbox, "X" button on PS3.

Awesome button is awesome.

It does get some getting used to but the number of times I have taken cover when trying to revive a friend happens way to often.

I hated this button in ME2, then I got used to it. Then I hated it again in the Demo, then I got used to it. Then I got the hang of doing tumbles and slides to cover (which can will  take some time) and I like it now (or maybe that's just what I tell myself to cope).

We should not have to get used to console controls. I can't believe how diffiult it would be to separate the bindings. If it works on console, great. But i dont want to do constant full stops when im running, just to make sure i dont get screwed over by the cover system.

Yes, a horrible design decision expected from the likes of Bioware.
The function to run and hug cover needs to be divided. All other functions you listed are not an issue.

You want Sprint, Dodge, Cover, Revive and General Activate to be on five seperate buttons.

Because you can't handle them being on one?

You sir, you need a controller, and you need to learn how to use it. It's better on the dark side, trust me.

it has nothing to do with console controls or pc controls. its a gameplay issue. This game has been based on the UE3 engine since its inception, and has been a 3PS the whole time, only now they have decided to adopt the cover mechanics that GoW had. This is why it doesnt bother alot of Xbox players, because we are used to this system. So...you can either get used to a system that works fine in ME3, because it has been used in 3 GoW series as well, or you can complain in the hopes of BW changing something that wont be changed. Actually, scratch that...game is gold, so might as well get used to it.

On paper it sounds kind of stupid but in-game I haven't had a problem with it at all lol.

It's stupid especially for revive as I keep going into cover if the guy is near cover when he dies.

If you're one of the people who don't see this as an issue, then my advice is this:

Start being more of a team player. You're clearly not attempting to do the objectives or revive teammates enough. OP has a point; it becomes a problem in the heat of a battle when you go to revive someone and your character starts dancing on their downed body like it's a Final Fantasy game.

...what?

The fact that five different actions are bound to one button IS because of consoles. It has absolutely nothing to do with...whatever you're saying in your paragraph. I'm not sure.

And, FYI, the Gears games are--guess what? Console exclusive. Kind of invalidates your point about it NOT being related to consoles.

I've been loving my turian cause he can't dodge. One less thing to do with the spacebar. Also makes it i don't go rolling around when i want to run and gives a ME2 feel to it.

I had the revive problem and found a simple way to fix it that has worked 100% of the time so far for me.  Simple angle the camera down to look at your fallen comrade.  The cursor to revive him should pop right up and viola.  Works everytime

I had trouble with the A button doing so much at first, but honestly, now that ive had a lot of time with the demo, my character does exactly what I want him/her to do virtually all the time.  I never have an accidental roll, and only on rare occassions do I end up sticking to cover I dont intend to.

yeah I Tap A and go into cover, I double Tap A and dodge, I Hold A to Run, and once I even tripled Tapped A and I heard my Mother moan from across the house. I was all "Dammit Bioware!" 'cause now she's hoggin' my 360.

On pc, tapping space bar is for cover, get out of cover, dodge, use.

It makes unintended player movements.
separate key scheme would be nicer.

I tried adapting. I tried all the combinations. I know how spacebar works, but there is simply no consistent way to do what you want to, fluidly.

Honestly the console gamers need to stuff it, this is entirely a PC issue. We are used to having individual keys for each action. We don't just game with our thumbs you see.   We've moved further down the evolution line and use all ten of our finger.s

It's not just an elitist PC issue in this case. Having the A button do everything and its sister is screwing us up just as much.

Elitist PC issue? Are you trying to make this a console war?
