My 2nd favorite class, rocking an Avenger X or Revvy V + Flame turret:innocent:. I want a Quarian Sentinel, my fav species and class rolled into one.

Sentry turrets are good for a early warning of enemies sneeking up on you, and they will slow them down(not much).. Also toss it behind gaurdians and they will turn around.

They are pretty terrible conpared to the combat drone. Although, with the right turret build you can kick a** with it. You can give it cryo or ap ammo, flamethrower or rockets.

I kinda ruined my Combat drone when i gave it rockets, now when i send it at an enemy he has to fly like 10 feet away to actually shoot.

Does the sentry turret actually shoot bullets? I've never seen mine engage anything outside of flame thrower range :(

Really?

My combat drone started getting triple the kills it was before I added rockets. I love it. I really wanna add rockets to my quarian's turret, but I don't know how good the flamethrower is.

I kind of prefer the turret; I've dropped the cooldown really low and just toss the turret into the fray. It's really good for placing behind enemies and dealing damage before they have a chance to respond, but it dies really quickly and doesn't seem to distract enemies as well as the combat drone. Another thing I've noticed is that I have a much easier time lobbing the turret where I want it, as opposed to the drone, which half the time spawns right next to me instead of across the area I need it to be.

At least we can all agree that regardless of what you use, Drone or Turret, Having a vanguard jump in and smash all your kills in a single nova is quite irksome.

I've been playing engineer a lot lately. When I see a vanguard charge in and nova everyone to death, I remember that XP is shared, so I think, "thank you." Then I turn my attention to people that were outside his nova blast radius.

To the main topic, I keep trying to get in to the Quarian, but it's been hard. I really miss overload

What I don't understand if why the Quarian turrets aren't as good as the Cerberus ones, seems pretty unfair to me.

Maxed out they destroy the cerberus turrets and with a decent cooldown you can spam them all over the place.

Well, from the gameplay point of view, they would be the single most overpowered power in the whole game (by a long shot).

But from a story perspective, consider that the cerberus engineers have to take a long time to set them up. They can't just throw them like a grenade. So in that sense, it makes sense that the Quarian might just choose to take along a weaker (but easier to deploy) turret. Also, I'm not sure, but I think those engineers carry the turrets on their back and they can only deploy one of them. I think there are multiple engineers to put up multiple turrets. But I could be wrong about that.

I prefer the turret myself too, because it is actually easier to aim than the drone. Alot of the time the drone will just end up in front of me instead of where I want it. Tossing your flame shooting turret behind a row of guardians or an atlas...fun time. It doesn't need to be powerful at all. It is a tool of distraction. People who gripe about the quarian engineer more than likely just don't know how to play an engineer. I play mine on silver all the time and she is right up there with my vanguard character on performance level.

I've given both Quarian and Human engineer a good deal of game time and I prefer the drone over the turret. I like that the drone can spawn just about any place I want it to and it seems to last a lot longer that the turret. Even with rockets the turret is kind of weak. Drone is hearty and draws almost all enemy's attention, even atlas. Enemy turrets and phantoms are the only opponents that can take it out immediately, but with enemy turrets it allows that second of distraction while you take it out.

The flamethrower is amazing. It can quite effectively melt an Atlas. It also has a surprisingly long range.

Although I prefer the drone over the turret, they are different enough to support various play styles. The problem I have with the Quarian is that cryo isn't as good as overload. Cryo has its uses, but functionally has too much overlap with incinerate. Yes they work differently, but they are both high damage cc moves. Either ability is just as good to use in any situation, whereas, overload covers others.

I got Quarian Engineer in my starter pack, and it pretty much sucks. The turret is completely useless until you upgrade it, and cryo blast is far worse then overload in this game. The Qaurian Infiltrator looks really good, though.

...am I one of the only people here who kicks ass with a Quarian Engineer? I absolutely love the class and the powers. I normally don't care for Engineers.

If I stay in cover and keep an eye on my turret I never go down. I equipped the Mattock and Scimitar shotgun as well, those work wonders.

I've saved plenty of lives (both mine and my teammates') by using Cryo Blast on enemies that are too close to me/my teammates.

Maybe it's all in how you play it...but Vanguard is my main class and I've noticed I do better with my little Quarian Engineer opposed to my Vanguard...

I love my quarien engineer. Didn't realize that gettingit in my starter pack would be so rare though. I love using my turret to pick enemies off by tossing it over their cover. It bounces off a wall, and bam that low health fool who refuses to pop out of cover dies. Haven't gotten a lot in though I need to play more.

I love the Sentry Turret of the Quarian Engineer. Did you know you can bounce them off walls? It's great for flanking Guardians coming from another room.

Ehh the quarian is OK, but Overload is about a zillion times better than cryo. Flamethrower turret is fun though.

Overload is abit overrated. For one thing it doesn't even seem to arc over cover like it used to. You've basically got to see what you are shooting it at now....and more than likely they will be seeing you too, and firing back.
