This is the first online co-op that has no lobby chat and no ingame chat and it has no voice command system.
Lack of such basic features is very debilitating and puzzling.

Remember Alien Swarm(free) where you could even draw on the map with a mouse in preparation for the mission besides being able to chat?

Why is Biowared retarding so much? Instead of going forwards like Alien Swarm did it went backwards.:(

There are key bindings for text chat, and voice chat is working.

Its a demo, things are missing.

It has lobby chat and game chat?? where??!
Why haven't saw a single word on the screen from any player in 20 hours of playing, in lobby and ingame?

Why haven't I read a single word on the screen from any player in 20 hours of playing?

...Get a goddamn mic. I've muted at least ten people in the last hour because they wouldn't stop talking. Yes, that's 60 minutes, three missions, 9 different squadmates and I've muted 10. That's how many people are talking 10 out of 9.

Being team leader, I chat with my group a plenty. I'm on PC. I press TAB to activate my mic, and then I simply talk. Even not being team leader, I can do the same thing. I can also give my group directions or warn them of oncoming threats, via... talking. ;P

Also this is a good time to mention that many people dislike voice chat and general usage of microphones on the internet because it is intrusive to your privacy.

Just by speaking you can reveal your gender, age, country of origin, etc.

Yeah, I hate when people actually get to know obvious facts about me.

Especially those times when you talk and your address comes out.

Do you know if there is a way to mask your voice in real time but remain comprehensible when talking to a mic?

I haven't heard any voice chat or seen any text chat at all in the PC version, not really sure why. Either way I would block it out of paranoia of game spoilers, not to mention people on voice chat have a tendency to be douchebags (no really, unless its Killing Floor and people are prone to give out commands I just ignore voice chat, usually there is some angry person giving out commands and if he loses or dies he'll rage)

Nope. Guess you have to charm people with your personality if you want to communicate.

Yeah but with text chat you reveal that you have fingers.

Isn't that too much for RANDOM STRANGERS on the internet to know about you?!

There is an option for that on Ps3.
You can either make your voice deeper or higher but why should i do that? I don't want to hide myself from other people...Unless if im wanted for mass mureder :D (EDI:That was a joke)
But yeah a text chat would be good becouse not everybody wants to speak.

lol Why not just suggest Bioware to do voice mask chat instead based on your class. Imagine you're playing like as a krogan, and you're talking like a krogan (although it's probably impossible though).

You could make some gargles with a broken glass, it gives the effect of a person who has been smoking and drinking for 30 years.

That's not going to happen, people keep telling me that I have an abrasive personality, whatever the hell that means.
I would rather prefer the precise sterile format of text.

Yeah, most of the matches I've played were done so in silence. In one recent match I played though, there was a new player who was just running around getting killed and then yelling at us to revive him. Quite annoying.

Means that your responses are harsh and with little explanation.
"How are you?"
"Fine"
It's like if you are telling "What the **** do you care?"

Or like my brother.
Typical conversation with him on the phone.

Me: bla bla bla.
Him: No.
Me: bla bla?
Him: Yes.
Me: bla bla bla.
Him: No.
Me: Ok, see you later, bye. Good luck.
Him: Bye.
