 Okay. i know there are a lot of complants about this. The phantom takes a CRAP load of hits, to even lower the barrier and then they recharge it and continue to destroy our team. Could you maybe lower the damage or health of the thing? that would be swell.

I think it is just fine as it is now, it's a challenge to some, well maybe not for Asari Adepts.

You should put what difficulty your referring to.


And Barriers are easy to take down with the right ability. Like overload for example. Then their health shouldn't be too hard with an ability like ohh i dunno say Warp.

WHat classes did you have on your team?

Were you stickng in groups of 2 at the least when the phantoms came? Did you keep an eye out for them early and try to weaken them from a distance(Very easy on noveria)

I'm fine with their health... they're pretty easy with stasis or warp, but they shouldn't be able to go completely invisible or have a one hit kill.

They die in a second if you have an asari adapt, a drell vanguard, and a krogen squad (or an asari commando unit)

Overload's good for Anti-Barrier measures. Turian Sentinels can follow up with bullets, and Engineers can use Incinerate, or perhaps a Drone to give teammates a better shot.

I think it's too early for players to suggest balancing issues. It's also too late for devs to do anything pre-launch.

Usually, if you're having a difficult time with something, the problem is probably you. I don't mean to sound harsh, but many of the people who posted before me--like myself--seem to think they are fine. They've also posted some helpful tips.

It's a false problem. For every person who complains about phantoms, there's many more who believe they are balanced--but of course you don't see them, because there is no point for them to start a thread on a non-existent issue.

They are actually pretty easy 2 kill....if you work together as a team, just get it's shield down with and they pretty much die already hehe. They can't dodge from a charge, vanguards eat them up with shield down hehe

Phantoms are easy to work with.

Asari Adepts can use stasis, completely makes them helpless.
Engineers can use overload, works wonders on barriers, and incinerate helps stop them from cloaking, regening health and barriers.
Krogan Soldiers can if skilled and brave enough, melee them, having a shotgun helps.
Vanguards can just utterly wipe the floor with them, with all their biotic comboing.

Small amount of examples, but I've had no problems taking them down by myself or with a group of people (which is the point of teamwork, its co-op)

They're easy as long as they're isolated. Powers (max overload+stasis bubble) are necessary to trap them and make the barrier disappear. then let the vanguards charge+nova or spray them with bullets. But when they start to come from all kinds of direction and in group of two at each sides, nothing works wonder than teamwork and watching each other's back. I find a crap-tons of atlas wave to be a pain too.

I don't have a problem with their high health/barrier, their 1HKO, or their dodging capabilities, but damn those pee-shooters of theirs.

I've noticed ammo tends to do hardily anything to th phantom, the trick is to use melee attacks, after each attack they are stunned momentarily and it usually takes about two to three melee attacks to finish them.

Also don't allow them to back you into a corner or you're screwed.

Asari adept in party and all phantoms are just target practice. And on bronze there aren't many of them so it's not a problem to go without adept. just think of your party when you are playing on gold, so there would be specialist for everything.

A bit of teamwork sorts them out really easily, just be aware of where they are and contain them with powers (stasis/overload/throw/singularity etc etc).

Also on Silver an Infiltrator can kill them with 1 headshot (2 for Gold) so just remember to support your team mates, mics help tenfold.

Or soldier, just spam concusion shot with rifle fire and she goes down pretty fast.

Well... or Vanguard, just keep Vanguard charging her, it works even when people cry about Vanguards doing it, just don't Nova, she gets her chance for 1 hit kill even in middle of Nova (which is RIDDICILOUS).
