Those two are the most impartant characters in Dragon Age. Regarding Morrigan, I think we all agree. Now think about Dagna!

As I've helped her getting into the Circle of Magi (I hope everyone helped her!), I find myself very curious about how that could turn out. She is very excited about the opportunity to study magic, even though dwarfs aren't capable of casting any spell at all. Despite her lacking abilities she still is very enthusiastic. First Enchanter Irving is surprisingly curious and excited himself! Since she can't practice magic, she has to stick to pure theory. This means she will probably become a scholar and an intelectual among the magicians (in a dwarfen way, whatever that means). She will probably learn more about legends, magical artifacts, theories about magic and history than any other member of the Circle of Magi. More theory means deeper digging, which means deeper holes and therefore suprising discoveries! And this is what eventually makes her predestined to become a central figure in the Circle of Magi.

I hope Dagna will get a larger role and become an integral character in Dragon Age's future, because she is different. Her background is different. Whenever you plan something to happen in the Circle of Magi, please include her. She could provide theoretical background knowledge about tasks related to the Circle of Magi or become a quest-giver herself!  Dagna could provide valuable information she comes across, regarging Flemeth's and Morrigans intentions! DLC, Expansion, Dragon Age 2 … no matter what, in either case: more Dagna!

P.S.
My apologies for spicing up the topic's title Image IPB

I have to give this a +1, I though Dagna was an awesome character and wanted to see more of her.

I love Dagna...although her excitement is creepy.

Imagine yourself checking back into the tower and observing her excitedly running around between the library's shelves. Later, when she got used to her new life, she can start to annoy the other students with her enthusiasm. Image IPB

My memory tells me that her eyes were much bigger, bloated from excitement! Nearly popping out of her face!

I like Dagna as well. She's just so eager to go, so well prepared. One of the NPCs I'd like to have added to the party, even if she didn't fight, just to hear her comment on things.

She's one of the few npcs that make me want to replay the game again to see how she reacts differently. How will she sound with my sociopath character crushes her dreams underfoot? How about if I didn't side with the circle, what happens to her dreams then?

As to your curiosity on what happens with her, well, you'll just have to wait and see :)

Apparently I'm in the minority for not liking her. Her voice suits the character and both annoy me quite a bit. I don't see why a geeky little girl would have any special importance for the Circle as opposed to proper mages, except maybe in terms of being a guinea pig and spilling some dwarven secrets on lyrium smithing -- if she knows any, which I doubt since it's probably a trade secret not easily taught to annoying unapprenticed kids who don't care about tradition. I think for diplomatic reasons my human warrior will decline to help her (haven't finished the quest yet because I'm undecided). My noble dwarven warrior will definitely not help her. The human mage likely will, and the Dalish rogue ... no idea yet.

I fully believe that Dwarves can be capable of Magic, they're just prevented from some particular influence. Speculatively, it could be their lyrium proximity.

I helped her get to the tower, but imagined that she would become disillusioned once reality set in and then want to leave within a month.

But by then her father had already disowned her (*shakes fist*), and no respectable dwarf would marry her, so she only has 2 choices:

1. Stuck working as a research jockey in a roomful of humorless Tranquil eunuchs for the rest of her life.

2. Go slinking back home, casteless and untouchable, soon to become Dust Town's newest town pump.

If you help Dagna join the Circle, you get an epilogue entry that tells you more about her fate. She was one of my favorites, too - love her enthusiasm for book learning. The first (and only) dwarf nerd!

I don't think so. I mean, some dwarves have had their family on the Surface for generation sand yet you never hear of dwarven mages.
