I'm getting an error that the authentication servers are down, therefore I can't play MP.

As above. One of the annoying things about online services like this- once the servers are down, you're stuffed.

Not really. Just complain on the forums till it's fixed. Welcome to the wonderful world of Origin.
Steam is shaking in it's boots.

I agree there should be a "status page" or something, where people can access official info instead of having to rely on speculation on forums etc. Come on EA, it can't be that difficult... :[

If the servers go down this often after release then this doesn't bode very well for ME 3 mp.

If it sucks, why am I forced to use it? Is this how good Origin will be all of the time?

I can get on to Origin just fine, but I can't get into EA servers when ME 3 is on.

Same, and agreed.

What is it exactly that makes Origin so great?
Is it just another way for them to try and earn more money?
Hmmm cant be, how would they ever make money out of that thrash...
It can be to make things easier either thats for sure
So what could they possibly gain from making us run games thru Origin?

Yeah - I am starting to get a bit pissed about Origin. Origin has been down intermittently all weekend.

Imagine how online only games feel. If you want a laugh check out the Battle Field 3 forums. They have pretty much exploded.

Yeah it looks that way lol, you would think that they would have some quick fix for this problem by now since it happends so often.

So tada...Origin was born.
It was fluid with downloading the demo, but seems to be crappy about handling the traffic of gaming.
It's a Beta, I give em that.
I begin to wonder if EA has made any researches in how much server-capacity is needed for a Steam-Clone, or if it's software-issues.

The only issue with Origin is that it services the entire EA network, every game that has multiplayer from them uses the same account system, which is all tied into Origin.

I have to wonder why we have to use platforms like Steam and Origin to be able to play the games we bought in stores, though...or even those we buy online...A program necessary to be able to run a game that is perfectly able to run itself? It just doesn't make sense...
