I'm not a Steam fan-girl, but I have to say that errors on Steam at least get fixed quickly...Seriously, I've never encountered major issues with Steam until now...The longest period of downtime was about a day, no more.

I have to wonder why we have to use platforms like Steam and Origin to be able to play the games we bought in stores, though...or even those we buy online...A program necessary to be able to run a game that is perfectly able to run itself? It just doesn't make sense...

Its mainly about stopping second-hand sales, and ease of selling DLCs. Also, if you lean towards the conspiracist side, easier to control the gamer.

When I started using steam a few years back, I wasn't that comfortable with it. But eventually, I got around it because it value-adds to some extent. So far origin has been nothing more than an imperfect clone. Starting to feel that it is more of a hassle than anything else.

Hi all, it seems like the Origin servers are having some issues. The Origin team are looking into this and are trying to fix it ASAP.

Thank you for your patience.
Nick

Origin issue is now resolved.

It says the ME3 server is still unavailable for me...

Hmm, you got a point there...but then, I'm one of those people who prefer to buy a brand new hard copy of games...And I've never bought any DLC for any game thus far...But I can understand other people doing things like buying second-hand sales and buying DLCs...Yet, it also indeed feels like the companies want to control the gamers...It wouldn't surprise me when in a few years we even CAN'T buy any hard copies of games anymore...and it'll all be online, virtual, untouchable, so to speak. :\\

Same here, no matter what I do (disable firewall altogether, just open ports, manually open ports from router, change computers, reinstall) all I'm getting is "ME3 servers are currently unavailable" (or something along those lines). Can't play multiplayer at all (didn't try singleplayer, as I don't want to, I only want to start it when it it released).

I'm from Finland, if that matters.

Pfft, Origin sucks...If you're going to launch a digital platform like Steam, make at least sure it works properly... *sigh*
