Are you still working on this?

Well I just finished the EC and I figured I should start work on this again.v0.5 is coming soon, featuring a better installer, and better performance (both the color and original should perform as well as the old gameplay version now).
A preview of it:

I have been trying to use your Mass Effect 2 "Return to Darkness" enb but my game simply wont start. Do you have any suggestions?

Hmm. Are the mod files in the same folder as your MassEffect2.exe? If you're running ME2 with steam, try disabling the overlay, or if you're running any other overlay tool (like from MSI or EVGA) disable those as well.

What about things like FXAA? If you have an Nvidia card with recent drivers make sure it's disabled. I don't know what that would be for an ATI card.

Not quite sure what you mean there.

FXAA is a form of anti-aliasing that both ATI and Nvidia made available through their drivers control panel recently. Since this mod use the same kind of anti aliasing, both can conflict with each other.

I understand what FXAA is. I will try to disable it and see if it changes anything. Thanks!

I can't seem to get this working. The mod just produces a black screen, but there's still sound. When I turn it off with Shift+Caps lock, everything is fine.

Anybody have a fix?

What version are you using? A version with film grain by chance - if you are try it without the film grain (just delete effect.txt), and see fi that works.
Also, a background process might be causing the issue. If you're using an ATI card, I've heard that ati tray tools running in the background can cause this.

I've actually tried all the versions you've put up, with and without the film grain.

I'll try seeing what background processes are running, but I'm actually using an nVidia GTX 550 Ti.

Hmm. Black screen.  Try the new version I'm going to put out. In the meantime, I'll try to find a real solution (my guess is that ENB is not playing nice with your setup, so maybe using a different ENB will work. Just give me a sec to find a couple that might do the trick).

EDIT:
OK here are a couple of different ENbs you could try. Just download the .zip and extract the d3d9.dll to your ME3 Win32 folder (say yes to overwrite).

OK. Try the TES Oblivion version:
http://enbdev.com/en...vion_v0075a.zip

Or if that doesn't work, try the Burnout Paradise one
http://enbdev.com/en...dise_v0075b.zip

And if that doesn't work, try the Resident Evil one:
http://enbdev.com/en..._re4_v0075b.zip

Hope this helps!

New Version out now!

Better performance (no more gameplay mod, since the other two perform just as well now!). And an automated installer! :D. Just extract everything to your ME3 Binaries/Win32 directory and run the install.bat file.

Hey, didn't the Pause/Break button used to activate/deactivate something ? Now only the Shift + Tab combo works, and the Color mod from the Cinema Mod 0.5 isn't as colorful as the old one used to be. I installed both the Color Mod and SMAA... and I'm twelve and what is this ? Can you help me please ? Thank you.

Actually, FXAA is not used in "return to darkness".
It uses SMAA.

Just a quick note, love the automated install, and thank you so much for carrying on this project!
Everything seems to be working fine on my end, and LOVE the film grain. Did you change anything from V3? Cause I think it (the film grain) looks better now.

EDIT: still got to try it in combat though...

Ever since the auto install my game will crash if I try to use it. Even if I do it manually, it still wont work.

I can't get this working either. Just says Mass Effect 3 has stopped working. Shame. I would really like to use this.

Disable Origin In-Game, drop all the files from the Cinema Mod v0.5 in your C:\\Program Files (x86)\\Origin Games\\Mass Effect 3\\Binaries\\Win32 folder and click the Install bat thingy.

Edit : To disable Origin in-game -> Open Origin -> Click on the Cogwheel in the top right -> Settings -> In game -> Untick the Origin In Game Box

Edit : CPunch, you have Origin disabled In-game ?

P.S.

Yep. Needless to say, I'm not entirely sure where the ENB stuff seems to be going to wrong with my system.

EDIT: I know FXAA_Tool works on my computer. Is there any way to duplicate the settings in this mod (or get close)? Just a thought.

Disable Origin In-Game

Thanks! I thought it already was, but I guess it reverted back after the last Origin update. Works great now, and looks beautiful!

Just out of curiosity. What is the difference between this mod and the version .7 mod on the ENB website? Can anyone tell me that.

Still very much loving the results of this mod, by the way.
