updated OP with new version. Passing the time by hoping/waiting for ME3-specific ENB from Boris =).

maybe not :(

Good news for Mass Effect 3 fanboys, i decided not develop graphic mod for it. First of all, i want to play the game instead of seeing bad sides of it, casual gamers much more happy from playing games. Next problem is how game is done, high and low quality content tied together like it was developed 7 years. All haters who wish to hate me for this decision, find another haters for trolling, who think that this game is not to play for graphics (and many others i modified).

Is it worth it to work on what Boris did initially for ME3 or is your previous release fine enough? I actually just use one of your first releases without the fxaa stuff cause actually playing the game with that crazy high contrast hurts my eyes, I just like the de-saturated and more filmic look that just comes from the enb portion of your tweaks. I guess that's with most of the enb stuff though, makes great screenshots but I can't stand to play a game that becomes so intense all the time, eye straining.

Yeah, I'm working on the 0.107 ME3 that Boris released. It's buggy thuough - sometimes it removes all game sound. Sometimes, it doesnt do anything. Although it sounds like he is still thinking of developing something for ME3....

I think I'm going to stick with the ENB that I was using for my other ones for now. I want to develop 2 versions for release in a bit. One is for screenshots that makes things look more realistic and pretty. Another for gameplay that is more toned down.

Updated OP With:

Mass Effect 3 Cinema Mod

This version of the mod is for taking screenshots and video. It intentionally reduces performance & playability for the sake of looks. There will be a second version of this mod released soon that is optimized for gameplay.

See the video (in stunning 2K resolution!):

On the front page there is the Cinema Mod and the ones below it. .1, .2, .3, it says ported to the ME3 Demo, does this work with the full game?
I'd like to give it a try but don't wanna screw up the game of course.
And keep up the work man, the ME universe needs more people like you!!

Hey Mr Chowder, I loved your enb for mass effect 2, looking forward to continued development on your mass effect 3 version.

If there is anything that can be done to assist you in terms of testing or anything let me know.

Something I noticed is the colours in vanilla mass effect 3 look better than vanilla mass effect 2 definitely. Perhaps the colour alteration is not as needed for me3, just a thought.

Yup! This mod works with ME1/2/3. And if you don't like it, just delete all of the files that you copied to uninstall.

Yes - I agree on the color correction bit. I wanted there to be a noticeable difference between stock and the Cinema mod, so I added more blue. For the gameplay version though, I'm planning on making the color correction and bloom more subtle, and focus instead on a little bit of desaturation. Thanks =)

(sorry for yet another bump, but: )
I just got the gameplay-optimized version ready for you guys! Here's what I added to the OP:

Mass Effect 3 Cinema Mod [Gameplay Optimized Ver]
This version is optimized for gameplay. It has the following features:
  • Specific options toggle for bloom, color correction, and SMAA (all can be turned on/off in-game via hotkeys).
  • Good performance. Only ~10fps hit in performance. Even less with Bloom turned off.
  • Color correction Imitates human eye. This means shadows have a slight blue tint. Looking into a very bright light source desaturates colors on the screen dramatically.
  • Highly customizable (like all ENB-based mods).
  • Easy install. Just copy files to your dir.
  • Works with Mass Effect 1, 2 and 3 (but designed specifically for 3).
Watch the video (please do!)

Whenever I install either the cinema or gameplay version, my ME3 just crashes on startup with the generic "MassEffect3.exe has stopped working" error. :(

I tried both SMAA and FXAA versions of the cinema.

Some specs (if they are of any help):
Geforce 560ti 1gb w/ drivers @ 295.73
8gb system ram
Win7 64-bit

The injectors I've used for Deus Ex and Skyrim both work fine additionally. So I do not know what could be causing it :/

Hmmm, have you tried disabling the Origin overlay? Open Origin, click the gear icon in the top-right. Then click settings > In-Game > Uncheck "enable origin in-game". ENB works fine with steam, but not with Origin (for whatever reason :/)

Thanks for trying - sorry about the performance hit! Which version, and how many FPS? Let me know so that I can try to optimize!

What can be the difference/gain between the two ENB-Core versions (currently used vs latest Boris' beta)?

ChowderClam: I thank you once again for the mod. Made me enjoy ME3 a hell more then I did ( I have a pretty good PC so I had no issues playing the game with the 0.2 Alpha v ).

Made a full walkthrough using that v ( all vids have a link to this thread ). Great mod. www.youtube.com/playlist

I'm not sure on the details, but form what I gather:

Boris' beta uses the newer version of ENB (the TES V/DX:HR Versions), but it only allows for shader programming via HLSL. His version doesn't have built-in bloom or color correction options, HOWEVER, with the right programming, it would be possible to do some really amazing things, like SSAO, Real reflections, true HDR and color correction, etc.

I'm not very good at programming, so I'm not too sure what to do with the shader.fx file that he has. Maybe someone who is good at shader programming could make some settings that I can play with ;).

The beta is also a bit buggy - sound cuts out sometimes, and in some levels, the effects aren't applied.

The current version is older, but it has limited support for more games. For instance, for Mass Effect 1/2/3, the color correction, and bloom shaders work fine, but the reflection, SSAO, and motion blur shaders don't.

I hope that makes sense :|

Does this enhance textures (higher resolution)? Also a 560Ti 448 Core should be able to handle it with a 4.0 GHZ 2500K right?

Please include the AO to the ENB itself so that AMD users can use it too. Real time AO would make wonders to the look of this game.

Unfortunately, this is not possible, since current version of ENB does not support AO. It has to be through Nvidia driver hack :(

No, this is not a texture pack. It offers color and lighting tweaks. Yes your graphics setup should be fine ;)

Tried the gameplay version and it looks great. It's very subtle but it takes away that weird glow all the characters had and makes them fit in with the scenery more. I noticed a framerate hit, but wasn't very detrimental. I haven't been in any huge spaces though, so hopefully it continues to play smoothly. Good work.

No because actual high resolution graphic texture files needs to be there in the first place. This just makes the current graphics more smooth and adds more bloom.

This is from the OP.

Look at the clothing on Thane (Hint: Right click and open image]. What Bioware has done is a simply console game developing trick, where you keep the faces in a high resolution, but make the clothes low resolution. Because console gamers are going to sit far away from the screen and focus on the face. So they will not notice it. But PC gamers will. Since we sit so close to the screen.

Yes, like I said above, this mod does NOT improve texture quality. It changes color correction and modifies (does not necessarily add) bloom. For instance, Mass Effect bloom is fairly high-contrast bloom. This mod reduces gamma on the bloom and softens it so that it's not as noticeable (unless, of course, you get the 500% bloom version. trololol!). ;). You can also revert to ME default bloom by pressing shift+scroll lock in-game.

If you want *real* PC rendering quality, you can't beat brute force 4:1 oversampling

This is a completely unedited screenshot from in-game
http://members.iinet...E3/wrex_raw.jpg

UE3 uses many optimisations (life sampling DOF at 1/4 screen resolution, no sub-pixel lighting), it's nice to be able to use the power to move it closer to pre-rendered quality. Also has no visual artifacts like SSAA in UE3 games

So the Origin overlay was my big issue, running the FXAA Cinematic version and it runs great, went form 8xMSAA to 4x and the fps is the same as it normally plays at. Some whites get a little washed out, like when you start Jacobs mission.

Phenom II x6 1055T @ 3.8Ghz
8GB Corsair Ram
Crossfired 5850's @ 800/1200mhz
Triple Buffered, 4xAA, config heavily tweaked to increase graphical quality.
60fps in general area's/combat, 45-50fps in dialog.
CPU usage went up from 20%, to 25%, GPU's went from 45-50% to 60-65% usage.
This is without forcing a crossfire profile, likely to see better performance if I do that.

No complains, thanks for the solid product.
