Where's the eye rolling smiley when I need one.

This isn't Mission Impossible, just get in the EZ so we can all get points.

Even worse is when they do not bother to go to the Extraction Zone at all, which happens way too much for my liking. Some people do not know how to play as a TEAM.

I personally always wait until the final 30 sec. just to take out any mechs or phantoms early

Last 20-30 seconds is etiquette i've been trying to spread around the online community early myself. Built my Origin contacts by like 14 people last night. See here's the thing, you don't want to just dog pile on the EZ on silver or gold. It'll get you dead, fast. You form defensive firing arcs around the EZ and leapfrog your asses back when it gets close. On silver and gold you will get your EZ swarmed if you don't fight back a bit lol.

Even on Bronze you can get swarmed if you're not careful.

As a Vanguard, I stay in cover just outside of the LZ, so I can put my shotgun to excellent use, make sure Shockwave is gonna reach & to be certain I can use Charge safely.

That said, at about 30 seconds I retreat the LZ & ignore Charge all together. Not worth the risk of making a bad jump & ending up downed.

Yea I hate playing the last 30 seconds as vanguard, my finger twitches over Charge but I can't use it.

On the...red map...I will sometimes use it early on to take down Centurions in that building to the side with all the windows looking at the EZ. Although the smoke they fire comes in handy

My teammates and I usually treat that last wave like this:

Run to the LZ before the enemy spawns so they stay away. Then charge after them to get as many points as possible. Around 30sec or so left, we charge back to the LZ.

Works every time. (Except for Gold.)

I run out of ammo if I camp it from the start. I roam around for a little bit and head there when my remaining ammo will carry me into extraction.

I'd like more incentive for last-minute escapes. Priority targets that are out of reach from the extraction area or something.

It's much easier to defend the area from cover outside of the extraction zone, which is why I always wait until the last10-15 seconds to get in there. Surviving and not making it to the extraction zone is better than being overwhelmed and not surviving the eleventh wave.

If you're playing bronze, then yeah, just stay in the EZ. It's easy.

Do people have trouble with ammo much? I have something like 30 of the emergency ammo packs lying around and hardly need to use them. Beats trying to fight your way through to an ammo dump in a pinch though

Only time I begin to run low on ammo is during the evac phase.

"Get to dah choppa!"

I can't help yelling that out at the start of the phase lol.

Yeah ammo packs are a waste. Sometimes they come in handy (you get pinned down and can't get to ammo to kill the guys you need...well infiltrators probably can but the rest of us need magic ammo appearance) but I have way more than I use.

Grouping up at the start in the EZ zone, especially on Firebase Ghost is actually not wise - much better to mow down the mobs using cover since that small EZ area is just asking to get mowed down. There's too little cover xD

With the upgrades I've gotten for my Mantis rifle, I now have 34 shots total at my disposal.  For bronze, ammo isn't an issue.

People who run to the extraction zone as soon as the wave starts are almost as annoying. To prevent either from happening I usually head over at 30 seconds, since the extraction zone on both maps aren't too good at being defensible at swarms.

Just carry Avenger with you, it doesn't weight anything so it's awesome long range gun for Vanguard to have.

Well, I let my team go for EZ, but I go out to push them back though. Drawing Atlas away, let it take the longer route works every time. By the time it gets to LZ, there's already 5 seconds left.

I also use ammo pack for emergency Cluster Grenade for Drell Vanguard though. Pretty power full against all odds.

If only they would be left behind because they stay out of the LZ.

Exactly, it is just so annoying when everyone else gets back in time and that one person is too busy doing whatever, resulting in the rest of us getting partial extraction.

If someone is down, i try to get to them and ressurect if possible, if someone is retrieving data i cover them, if there are 30 seconds left to extraction i get back to the area and so on. I think some players see it as a competition to get highest score instead of working as a team to finish the waves.

I have yet to run into anyone who doesn't hoof it to the LZ, in fact its quite often that I see people already running toward it before the wave starts.

I do have problems with people playing objectives though, they just go for kills while I'm trying to upload or hack a terminal and getting totally overwhelmed. Those are the people that get angry messages from me.

i wonder if bioware purposely made the LZ like a killzone.

easy to get swarmed from all sides with the enemies coming in taking the high ground on you.

so yea , clustering @ the LZ on the extraction message is kinda like suicide to me.

Of the two maps, Ghost clearly needs some balancing with regards to the EZ. It's simply too easy for enemies to pin you and lob a few grenades in.

But that still doesn't address the issue of gung-ho team mates going for points and glory in the dying seconds of extraction. There should be something like a point cutoff, or at least a halving of the points given with 30 seconds to extraction or it simply doesn't make sense. These guys are busy killing things and gaining points while those who want to play as a team get shafted by standing about at the extraction point, losing points for extraction, and for the killing.

edit : Perhaps a point penalty can be given if players are alive and fail to make it to the EZ. Harsh, but I'm reasonably sure plenty of players would agree to this.

i thought that was what you were supposed to do loll

my game glitched out..couldnt get behind cover...died 6 seconds from extraction...team mate revived me...just as he died.
I was the only one that got extracted. lone survivor bonus.
Felt well guilty

I only carry one gun to get the max recharge speed and no I've run out of ammo 2 waves in god knows how many I've played now.
