Boot up Mass Effect 2. Play the intro. There are 3 dialogue points, with 2 options per. AKA it is a shorter intro with less dialogue then ME3's demo portion, which MAY not contain all dialogue already included.
Only 8.

So, basically, you're making a fuss over something that wasn't a problem to begin with. ME1 and 2 broadened into their normal RPG post intro and considering ME3 demo 1) is ONLY the intro + title screen then a truncated Sur'Kesh w/o the dialogue portions, what are we grumbling about again? >.>
That's not even remotely true.
The conversation with Jacob during the mech fight had more options than the ME3 demo combined. I played it last night.

He is mistaken. There is an entire conversation with Jacob when you first meet him with a whole slew of options and inquiries. Then another few small ones with Wilson. And then another with Miranda, plus the one in the shuttle.
And that's ONLY the Cerberus station.

It was about the writing as a whole. If you read what I wrote you'd know that's my gripe with the game. But since you're feeling snippy... Surkesh's "extra" dialogue only references the building and what it's used for, and the renegade and paragon dialogue options have the same problem as the demo, reiterating the same statement with a different tone. Unlike ME1 and 2 where the R&P choices were extremes of one another. The writing has suffered in this game.

You are the one mistaken. We are talking about the INTRO. The intro is considered the portion before the title screen. AKA, ME2 is the Normandy blowing up. ME3 is Earth invasion occuring. We have not seen what comes after the title screen of ME3 yet, which is where ME2's Cerberus station with more dialogue occured.

The complaint being made here Android is that ME3's intro has "too few dialogue" options, when ME2 had even less. In terms of ME3 needing a longer intro to explain the gap, I would have liked it to show a bit more but to the complaint that it's "lacking dialogue", it's completely moot since it's a longer intro then ME2 by a good margin.

Thank you for elaborating, I stand corrected.
Again, I'm not trying to call for cancelled pre-orders or anything. This is just something I noticed during the demo that alarmed me.

What you are saying just plain isn't true. I have the ME2 intro sequence with the Cerberus station booted up right now and it has WAY more dialogue.
All I can think of is that you're referring to the Normandy being attacked, in which case, yes, there were like two dialogue choices.

I understand that. However, there's no need for a long explination when at the end of the first act all problems seemed to have been solved for the moment. The end of the second act raises many problems for the protagonist, so in the final act there needs to be a recap of the situation the hero is in and an explination how it will go forth from here. The two opens are very different situations and need to be handled very differently because of it. They chose to expedite this one, even though it was wrong for the situaiton. That is bad writing.

They confirmed that they removed lot's of conversation dialogue in the demo to prevent spoilers also you will have different dialogue choices if you import a previous character.
Got a link? Not that I don't believe you but it'd be nice to see it for myself.

I would also like to see a link, as people have made threads about this before and not once has a dev stepped in to confirm nor deny that claim.

This is a tough one to call bad writing IMO - again, I think a bit more length would be nice since there is more ground to cover, but honestly, what would they REALLY show going into ME3 considering how Arrival ended? If you ignore the comic that bridged the time between Arrival and ME3, the only real event we're missing there is James Vega's appearance. We know Shep was going to have to report to earth to explain his actions and possibly stand trial. Short of the actual trial being added, everything else pretty much went from point A to B as Arrival pointed to. Maybe I'm simplifying it a bit by saying that, but that's how I read ME3's intro.
Again, I would have liked a bit more to it though - just wouldn't call it bad writing either personally.

I can't seem to find a link but you can be sure that they cut a lot of dialogue. Even from the leaked beta you have more dialogue options. People that have read the leaked script also know that there will be more dialogue. The Surkesh mission was also cut in half.KainrycKarr wrote...

Exactly 8 conversational choices in the demo. Not 8 seperate conversations with choices, but exactly 8 times during dialogue where you have input, and each time you have only two possible selections.
None of them have any effect, whatsoever, on the conversation.
Please, Priestly, Woo, ANYONE, please tell me this isn't what to expect from the retail release.
....Please?
Yeah, in the game you also teleport from Earth to SurKesh.
