Firstly I should say that I'm not in favor of EDI getting a new body.

She's a COMPUTER, after essentially becoming the Normandy (thanks Joker, I really wanted a ship that can choose which of my orders to obey) she had a huge role and important place on the ship.

Assuming that that job is important, why is she leaving it to become a bullet magnet down on the ground?

I already have an idiot stooge to hide behind on the battlefield.  His name is James Vega..

Secondly, Why is the body sexy?  Do we really need THAT?  Now rule 34 and deviantart are going to go nuts.

Come on Bioware, she's a ROBOT.

Thirdly, if we want to talk about squadmates that we don't need and are given waaaay more of a role than they deserve, EDI blows past Vega, Liara or Team Dextro.

Because for some boggling reason every single female squadmate has some need to be sexy.

Obviously, ME3 needed a cyclon. Now it has one.

Because Bioware liked the TV show Andromeda, that's why.

If you were a brain trapped inside of a starship dashboard, you'd want to get out and stretch your legs, too.

We already have a perfectly good robot sidekick and they are Legion. We don't need EDI on the battlefield

in geek logically speaking. EDI wants to connect herself to organisms more, so she would want to feel and move how they do. also since the normandy was going to be taken apart by the alliance im pretty sure she would want to hide herself so she wouldnt get destroyed by them :/

Alright, just going to address the bit in quotes...

As to "why is she leaving" - she's not, technically. She's still in the ship. As far as I understand, her use of the body is akin to someone remote-controlling a computer somewhere else from their own via a wireless or wired connection. EDI just has to devote a bit of her processing power to controlling the body - which, being a frigging ship, she probably has a bit to spare.

Especially if the ship isn't actually doing anything at the time.

I imagine Legion is a bit preoccupied too with the geth/quarian conflict during the events of ME3 to actually serve as the "robot sidekick" member of the squad, to be honest.

I'm more pissed off at the bit inthe art book that says "EDI had to be sexy"
........... Seriously? Pretty much every other female is oversexualised.
EDI used to be a good character, now she's Tin ****** feat. Tricia Helfer -.-

And every not-so-humanoid alien is male. I wonder what would happen if another spoiler squadmate were female?

I wonder who built her and what they were thinking while making her robot T&A.

I like the idea of EDI having a body that could be used for better interaction with people on the ship but making her combat able seems a bit much. EDI is an AI a very smart AI built using reaper tech, there is no way anyone would build her a body.

Kay.

Still does.

Assuming that that job is important, why is she leaving it to become a bullet magnet down on the ground?

She's... I'd like to say splitting herself but that's not entirely accurate. Copying isn't exactly their as well. But she's able to control both the Normandy and the body simultaneously with no problem.

I already have an idiot stooge to hide behind on the battlefield.  His name is James Vega..

Now that's just plain rude and unnecessary.

Secondly, Why is the body sexy?  Do we really need THAT?  Now rule 34 and deviantart are going to go nuts.

Come on Bioware, she's a ROBOT.

So? Why can't robots be sexy?

Thirdly, if we want to talk about squadmates that we don't need and are given waaaay more of a role than they deserve, EDI blows past Vega, Liara or Team Dextro.

Why? I think this will be a good way to gain understanding on how an AI thinks and feels in the ME universe. If it doesn't go that way, well... atleast I like EDI, so I see no problem.Image IPB

Okay... I guess I'm gonna be the brave one and ask the question all of us want to know but also kind of really don't:

Will EDI be romanceable?*

*meanwhile, somewhere in the BW universe:

This is all Joker's fault, what a tool he was! Now I spend all day computing pi because he plugged in the overlord.
