Everything was good until they put Sheploo in the trailer.

You know, if someone said that about the FemShep trailor they'd be labeled as sexist.

We have so many freaking Sheploo trailers it's not funny. FemShep only gets one and that's it. This is why many of us FemShep people are dissing Sheploo because she isn't getting the same screen time and same promotion time as Sheploo. And no it wouldn't be seen as sexist it would be seen as someone saying they don't like FemShep.

No it would easily be seen as sexist (even though it is not) by many rabid fem shep fans.

Male shep will be on the trailer more often than Fem Shep due to marketing reasons. No point in constantly complaining about it especially this late in the series.

Plus from an advertising standpoint, "Sheploo," a name I despise, just lookes wayyyyy more badass than a female Shepard would. I'm sorry but that is fact.

Personal preference. Fem shep looks more badass to me especially in the Fem shep trailer.

It is personal preference, you're correct. But a majority preference nonetheless, hence why the advertising is geared toward it.

Plus, it's called brand consistency. They've had this Shepard look since ME1. They can't change all their big trailers to include different main characters, people will be thrown off.

Not a bad trailer. "Black Blade" fits fairly well and I can't wait to see the full thing.

They make every trailer better.

Let's see them make a launch trailer better than the one for ME2. Can't wait for that :)

I wish I could go beat up Bioware marketing with a stick and possibly a rail gun as well to get them to see reason but I can't. So I will beat them here and hopefully beat some sense into them this way for their next game.

The trailer was pretty cool but what happened to Anderson's "We need every species and all their ships..."?

It was great in the ME2 CGI trailer when we were shown that Shepard will be working with Jack, Thane and Grunt: recruiting the Galaxy's best individuals to fight the collectors. Shame a similar theme isn't shown this time with the forces of other species. I would love to have seen a scene of the Turian, Quarian and Geth fleet above Earth conducting orbital bombardment while Shepard leads an army consisting of Asari, Krogans, Salarians and humans on the ground.

Come on Bioware, make it clear that the story isn't just about the overused "humans regrouping and defeating an invading alien army", but rather all the species working together to fight a force that threatens the entire galaxy.

No Sheploo is only iconic because Bioware made him that way. If they had promoted a dual Shep cover from the beginning with Sheploo and FemShep on the cover of ME1, ME2 and now ME3 then it would have been not so iconic as it would have displayed that there was more than just Sheploo. But they didn't. That is the point.

Becuase most of the people that play the Me series uses male.

Fixed.

We see Turian ships in the trailer.

I WAS one of the best I've ever seen. If they don't use Two Steps From Hell, then I will cancel my pre-order.

Mansell is probably scoring it.

I mean to say male shepard.

In that case, you'd be right.

But I really think BioWare sells themselves short in the marketing department. Not just the fact that it doesn't try to appeal to peripheral demographics, but because it really doesn't advertise the game's strengths. I still say that ME1's CGI trailer was the best advert in ME history. It was easily the most compelling, and even though it was only a few seconds, it never dipped into TOTALLY AWESOME territory.

Buuut, marketing is not for fans, any how.

Actually that is off. The reason why Bioware has done it is because most players are male and using a badass male marine as the marketing look is far more marketable than using both sheps.

Not really a preference for badassness but a preference for identifying with the character body for the majority of gamers.

What did I just say? Masell can score the game, but leave the trailer to the pros.

I guess the two go hand in hand. Most males want to be badass and in charge of melee battles with techno-zombies...right? [/tongueincheek]

BSN will complain about anything. MP, running animations, holstering weapons, Kirrahe's skin tone... now a trailer that doesn't have any of the game itself in it whatsoever nor will it be in the game. I'm out of popcorn.

So I watched the trailer. Wouldn't they want to keep the husks at distance and engage them with the advantage of ranged, heavy firepower?

They have to show the plastic looking omni tool.

Shepard jumped at two brutes with nothing but an omniblade. Both he and Ash are going into an all-out melee bloodbath with no helmets.

I think it's fair to say Rule of Cool is in full effect.
