I thought it was cool. Not as cool as ME2's.
Yeah pretty much.
Visually it is good, but there's too much scene jumping to get a good idea of what's going on. Honestly I think if I was someone who had no idea what Mass Effect was I'd dismiss it since there's not much emotion in it, besides the: "aww that little girl died" thing. The full ME2 cinematic trailer gave a good idea of what to expect from ME2 in you know: fighting with a squad to beat some alien menance. It would be very hard to tell who is what for someone new watching this advertsiement. I mean are those non-descript human soldiers bad guys? Obviously the Husks are. But what is the relation with the giant
War of the Worlds things? For me there would be a serious
WTF is going on here?
However for existing fans this is alright. We are familiar with these things. Though Ashley is an odd choice since she may or may not be alive. Garrus or Liara may have been a better choice not to mention also more distinct. Also Ashley is completely unrecognizable. I mean I know that's intended to be her. But if I had been oblivious to any media regarding ME3, I would honestly think that was a new squadmate. She doesn't resemble her
old self at all. Also this trailer makes it seem you'd be on Earth fighting aliens the whole time like
Resistance. Again ME2 gave you the idea your journey is galactic and that not all aliens are bad. Heck a truly uninformed person might chalk this up as some
Transformers thingy.
Though I did appreaciate the "nostalgia" Mako, even though I doubt there's any chance I'll get to drive it again in-game.
