I will be flamed for this, because "OH GOD HALO SUCKS", but Halo ODST and Halo 3 had some of the best CGI work done in recent memory in my opinion.dayvancowboy1 wrote...

btw, to those who claim GoW had the best trailers, clearly you've forgotten all about DX:HR's CGI trailer which really is THE best trailer any game ever had.

Edit: Actually, let me clarify. I thought the trailer was amazing (technically and aesthetically), and did what it set out to do very well. But it's an advert more suited to HR's themes rather than ME's.
One thing that the ME adverts could take from it is the direction ( though that's probably a BLUR issue, and Squeenix are the masters of cutscenes) -- the urgency in the riot scenes is palpable. You don't really see that here. Could have been cut out, though.

It only said that ships can't land.
One of the Bioware devs actually said that Dreadnought in the demo wasn't supposed to actually be a Dreadnought since it contradicted canon. Again artist screw up.
More like a miscommunication between art and writing, combined with time contraints:

Well? It clearly shows that Dreadnought starships CAN land on planets? I dont see the problem here.

Bungie did a great job with the CGI, Blizzard are the top dogs as far as I'm concerned though.

Dreadnoughts can't land on planets. Their mass is too great to safely dock on/ enter atmospheres planets 1 G or greater, and they lack sufficiently powerful cores to mitigate this with eezo.
Okey? So what would happen if a Dreadnought landed? It would explode?
In ME1 we see Sovereign on Eden Prime lifting off into space, no one yelled about that?
I think the Reapers are so incredible powerful and so far into the evolution and technical advanced that they can land on planets.

What are those? Are they called Brutes? The huge monstrosities that Shepard jumps at?
They have Turian heads and look little like Saren. Why are their bodies so HUGE? What did the Reapers do to them? Poor Turians..
Actually, no they're not. The Brutes are Turian/Volus hybrids. Common mistake

Love their work.
For those who are not familiar with those guys. They also did the ME2 trailer that made me go Thane is one bad mother(censored). And of course the official reveal of the collector ship. And for those wondering about faces... Miranda does not look like Miranda in that trailer either.
Can't wait for an extended version and the Launch Trailer.

I think this is not a Blur product. I think Digic Pictures made this trailer. They did the DA2 Destiny trailer too.Brian.V3 wrote...
Did you guys team up with Blur Studio again to create this cinematic trailer?

But what I meant is that she looked good, but that was not Ashley's face at all.
Well, a better likeness than CG trailer Isabela to the real Isabela.

It might not be able to handle the stresses, or possibly not be able to take off again. The point is, the codex says it's not safe.
In ME1 we see Sovereign on Eden Prime lifting off into space, no one yelled about that?
Because the Codex specifically notes Sovvy must have had an enormous ME core to be able to pull that off. It's something that is beyond the capability of current galactic civilizations, either for technical or economic reasons (or a combination of the two).

Since every Reaper Dreadnought looks exactly like Sovereign (except Harbinger), i guess they all have the same "hardware".
