Yeah, I didn't get this one either. They market the fact that we will see the trailer on the 19th and then we find out that the full one will be released on the 21st...
What is Silverman up to this time ?

Any ideas on what those larger ships are ? At first i thought they were all redesigned human cruisers, but at a closer look thay are different, as you can clearly see the original cruisers from the ME Battle of the Citadel beside them. Also, they seem to have Alliance markings.

i thought Ashley looked wierd in that trailer, also . . . . . . why was there no unit cohesion when they took on the husks?

I disagree completely, Ashley was my favorite thing about the trailer. Besides, since when does Shepard run around without some form of squad to watch his back? That's not Shepard.SNascimento wrote...
The only thing I didn't like about this trailer was Ashley... I mean, I understand they wanted a hot chick in the trailer and that is the whole purpose of recreating Ashley, but I just think it should be Shepard alone.
Two Caucasian, brunette men around the same age, around the same build, wearing similar battle armor isn't very eye-catching. It might have been nice for his fans, but the ads are targeted to new players who won't know them well enough from a 90-second spot to know how different they are as characters.GnusmasTHX wrote...
Kaidan and MaleShep can be in the same trailer...

What are you talking about? Kaidan's armor is much more unique than Ashley's. Ashley is just wearing colored N7 armor. In fact Kaidan would've stood out the more, and looked much better than Ashley's oddly colored N7 armor.

Having said that I loved the way Alliance ground forces came into view out of the dust although I feel so sorry for the poor sods in the Hammerhead, you just know they will be the first to die when a husk farts on that Origami tank. It was also great to see the Normandy in the thick of it leading the air campaign.

Aren't Kaidan and Ashley's armour sets both simply blue versions of slightly-modified Shep armour?
Regardless, Kaidan is my favourite character and I'm still overjoyed to see Ashley in the trailer. Justice for another neglected ME1 squaddie is always good.

No... Kaidan's is entirely unique.

You might say that as someone familiar with the series, but to a person who hasn't played the games it's still very similar futuristic plate armor. Kaidan is just too similar in look to Sheploo, I just don't see what he would add visually to the trailer aside from armor coloring.GnusmasTHX wrote...

I would say biotics would be the thing to set him apart, but all the fighting in the ad is purely from Shepard's perspective.

A distinct lack of alien forces in that battle. Felt a little too human-centric to me.
At least there are some.

No I'm pretty sure anyone would see the distinction. I don't even care really, it's just that the idea that Ashley has to be there because it's Male Shep is bonkers, and also because Ashley has been used in advertising and a cover before, which is contrary to BW's previos practice of using new characters in their trailers and covers.
There are other things, "Bro trailers" work, Shep and Kaidan would've been equally interesting, but also Shep and Ash are both soldiers... Even in the ME2 trailer they had one biotic, so I'm hoping there's someone else in there in the extended cut.

Entirely unique? Sorry, but I don't see where you're getting that at all. The 3D mesh of the chest is very similar to male Shepard's armour, if you look at the shot of Kaidan, Shepard and Liara that was released some time ago. The shapes are identical in many places and have only slight variations in others. Feel free to point out whatever differences you see (confining things to the model's shape, not the texture, of course). However, if I, a Kaidan fan since ME1, don't see a huge difference, I think it's a fairly safe bet that a casual viewer wouldn't see much difference either, which was the whole point being discussed.GnusmasTHX wrote...

I believe those are alliance dreadnaughts, like the one that blew up in the demo

Yep I agree the only real difference is that Bioware made it unique to Kaidan by color and symbols on it same with Ashley it was made unique to her by color and symbols. For example Ashley's armor has an S1 where Shepard's N7 is and Kaidan's doesn't have anything there.

Look unique to me. Maybe I just don't generalize looks into conformity and notice differences. The texture is relevant, too. It would make him stand out a lot more. Ash is basically wearing the girl, blue version of what Shepard is wearing. But I get it, she has boobs and hair so she looks different enough.
