i thought Ashley looked wierd in that trailer, also . . . . . . why was there no unit cohesion when they took on the husks?

"This isn't about strategy or tactics" Posted Image

"No plan survives first contact with the enemy."

and also given that we are literally ground level in the middle of an all out close quaters fight it looks pretty chaotic - stepping back there is more unit cohesion  than we know.

go to the 1:07 part of the video and you can clearly see the ppl in the background are all grouped up, no military leader would ever group his/her unit like that, even if its against "melee" troops, you always draw "melee" troops to your entrenched position and kill them with effective cross-fire

instead you have a bunch of "soldiers" with guns engage purely "melee" husks in hand-to-hand combat . . . . Shepard really, really, REALLY shouldn't be in charge

ITS A TRAILER. ITS JUST A GODDAMN TRAILER.

GLAAAAAAAAAAAAA-

I know...people are funny.  Nitpicking everything.  It is just a cinematic trailer for DRAMATIC effect.   Posted Image

Well one thing is for certain.

If you are a child that owns a toy ship, you are going to die.

Bwahaha!  Seriously, if BW just went out of control and inserted this subplot - like the toy ship equivalent of watching the video in "The Ring - I would be onboard with it!  Think about how much more insidious all those shops on the citadel would be.  You could rip off the end of "Halloween 3" - "You gotta stop selling those ships."

Now...joking aside, I think that's part of what makes this a *bad* trailer.  A lot of people are like, "Boo hoo, you killed a kid!" in the demo (for various reasons), but what's done is done and it's there.  More specifically, you've already evoked the image of a child playing with a toy ship.  Recycling it for a commercial and then expecting it to work in the story is bad form.  You've just diluted the game's impact because the same imagery isn't going to work twice on a player.  So that's why it's not "just" a trailer, but a dramatic misfire.

Too bad.  I just rewatched the ME2 cinematic trailer, which was much better than I remembered but then that commercial's focus (even while action-heavy) was on characters and setting the stage for the game.  This trailer was just, "Rarrrgh!  Combat!"

Well...that, and "If you are a child that owns a toy ship, you are going to die." :D

Just watched it. Excellent trailer, if a tad short. Extended cut should be interesting.

That trailer is frakking awesome! I don't get why people complain (yes, it's BSN, I know), it's meant to get you pumped for the game and in that aspect, it surely succeeds!

I do think, however, that the general public attracted by this trailer might be a bit disappointed when the game isn't only about shootin' aliens (no really, it's not).

I hope, for the Full Length trailer, that a high quality 1080p version of the video (even with 5.1 audio if possible) would be available to download!

I really like the beginning of the trailer. Showing a very utopian earth, humans at its apex. The Radio conversation between the fighter pilots makes the whole scene believable, feels realistic, something you could relate to. Great work, can't wait for the extended version. While the trailer was great it felt cut together. I'm sure the extended version will take care of that.

Missed Liara and Garrus, and i thought it was a bit too short. The preview was only 40 sec shorter. But beside the fact that i missed Garrus and Liara (witch is just my personal opinion) i liked it
ME3 FTW!!!!!

Nice to see the Mako and the Hammerhead, deployed together they make a lot more sense than apart.

I really like the trailer - nice use of the omni-blade in there too.

Cannae wait for the extended version :0)

What do you want to bet the 'extended cut' is 20 seconds longer, max.

Trailer is very cool. It makes me even sadder that the game's intro is so castrated. Even the trailer had more emotional build-up than the 2-3 mins of the game intro. Also, the city looked so much better in the trailer! I know you can't compare really CGI to in-game graphics, but more care should've been given to animate the city in the game, if not to at least give us 20 mins worth of gameplay in the city where we get to know more about it and create an emotional attachment, before the BOOM EXPLOSIONS begin.

Given the amount of effort to model and set up some of those scenes, especially the Normandy in flight (sploosh ), it would be a shame not to let them run out.

Loved it - absolutely epic trailer and really makes me want to see blur do the mass effect film tbh. more of this marketing and less of the bs Facebook tie-ins and dlc linked to region-locked toys and what have you.

Well, the trailer was bittersweet for me.

On one hand I thought it was really intense and probably the best trailer for a videogame I have ever seen.On the other it made me want to play the game even more; the wait is killing me.

Awsome trailer, much beter pick me up after playing dismal intro in demo. I'm just hoping combat will be more like co-op and they intentionally left out all of the rpg elements that were completely missing in entire demo.

Personally I quite enjoyed the trailer, the only two criticisms I can think of is firstly it would have been nice to have seen a bit more "normal life" on Earth before the Reaper attack.  The second criticism is the end bit with that leap against the brute, it was pretty face palm worthy.

Its a trailer, its meant to look epic and cool.  Like in the Live Action Skyrim trailer.  I don't know about you but I didn't face adragon in that game wearing Anceint Nord Armor.

Just watched the trailer and have perused over the last couple of pages in this thread. I have to say some people are really hard to please. A couple of inaccuracies in combat tactics, or misinterpretation of the symbolism about the little girl, and whole trailer is *bad*. Gimie a break will ya?

My opinion is the trailer is good, not great but good. I don’t pretend to be an expert in people’s perceptions, but what got out of the scene of the girl playing and then being killed is that it’s just a symbol to convey that the everyday normal life on Earth has become, in the blink of an eye, a nightmare. Are there other ways to portrait that symbolism in a 10 second cut? Sure!!...but I think this was perfectly appropriate.

BTW, Ashley looks phenomenal in this trailer. I wish she’d be like that in the game, but I understand there is a difference between CGI and in-game graphics
