so are they not gonna air it til they give out all these words? Cause I don't wanna keep flipping back and froth from Star Trek for an hour.
Well you're probably watching a superior show, my friend, but chances are? Probably. That or two-thirds in. It's a hook, a marketing hook. It works.
Ratings for shows are split into halves -- something many folks don't know. I've worked for Nielsen before so I've got this stuff down fairly pat. Basically, you have your first half-hour's ratings and your second half-hour's ratings. (That is, if you're an hour-long show, of course. If not, ignore this.) Your overall rating is the average between the two, but investors aren't thrilled when an episode's first half is so much better than its second half. It's cause for panic regarding the following week.

I'm not big on cinematic trailers for BioWare games. None of them have really appealed to me thus far. If I end up enjoying this one I'll be pleasantly surprised. If not? Well, no real skin off my back. I'm sure it will be watchable.
You haven't liked any? I like most of the ones from ME2. The Illusive Man ones were great.

Wasn't that because of budget cuts? I only followed the first season.Complistic wrote...
the writing was pretty awful last season, it's much better this season, but the plots been slower than anything.
They went ahead and fired all the writers, then the lead writer (pretty much the only guy left) bailed. Can't exactly blame him. They brought in a new team despite the show being such a hit because the network couldn't support the old team's plans financially. Or something.
If you're referring to Frank Darabont, he didn't leave. They fired him to further shave budget off of "the most successful show in basic cable history" according to Mr. Darabont anyway, haha. He is pretty visionary though and the first season was great with him as the show-runner. Then for whatever idiotic reason, they told him, "awesome, now do it with 40% less budget for season 2". He wasn't happy, voiced his displeasure, so they canned him too. I fear for the longevity of the show without him, which is sad.

Sorry, fans. I just can't stand this angle. It's so overused. For the most part this is a decent episode of television.

I enjoyed The Old Republic's cinematic trailers, and liked Mass Effect 2's. The others haven't really appealed to me.

There can never be enough dead children, just ask Visceral Games.android654 wrote...
So there's a kid that's going to die? Haven't they done that already? There's too much drama on death in a show where the world is populated by the dead.

Ah, thanks for the facts.
Yeah, I haven't really paid attention to the show's ratings this season. As I understand it things are still OK, but gradually they'll dip, chances are. Different sorts of audiences watch different shows. A decline in writing quality isn't going to bother fans of a reality show (lol) as it would for a 'human drama genre production' like The Walking Dead. So we'll see.
That's really, really crappy though. I can't in good conscience support that sort of network/studio behavior. Reminds me of Tribune Entertainment. Never watch a sci-fi show made by those guys. They always fire their showrunners for budgetary reasons and the shows always devolve thereafter.
Of course, I don't even have cable, let alone a Nielson box anymore, so it doesn't matter.
