N7 Leaderboard

Perhaps I do not play enough games with leaderboards, but this is confusing to me.

What exactly is the point of it?

The maximum possible points any player can attain is 120, after that nothing more can be gained as far as I can tell.

Or am I missing something here?

you are correct. the rank that's displayed up there is just the combined levels of all your classes. 6*20 is often times 120, therefore 120 being the highest level.

Devs have hinted that the N7 stat, or at least experience gained after level 20, will continue to have some sort of an impact. We will have to wait for the full game to see.
