Anyone know of a good build or guide that tells me how to make a good CQB infiltrator, because i'm not getting comfy on my second-playthrough as my sniper Infiltrator and I though I may give the SMG/eventual shotgun build a go, so does anyone have any builds or guides to suggest?

Take Neural Shock as your bonus power. The end.
It really is about that simple. The bonus weapon doesn't even completely matter. Some like the shotguns a whole lot. That's probably a good straightforward way to do it, but I personally think the Shuriken is good enough for nearly all your CQB needs. Some hate that weapon though.
I even took the Widow my last game so I could engage at any range. Also using the Widow up close is somewhat fun.
As for the build itself the very general rule is to max the unique skill and passive first then go for the other powers. I don't know that it is necessary to do it that way, and in fact I prefer using Neural Shock and Incinerate more than Cloak. But Cloak does add a margin of error for your play.
But that said you can get up close without it with NS. What's nice is that the cooldown is so short that you can get to where you hit a guy with it to stagger him, shoot him with the Shuriken (or whatever) to drop shields, then NS is basically off cooldown by then and you can shock him again.
Alternatively, the short cooldown is nice so that you can use neural shock on a baddie, then shoot at other people and as you come off cooldown, use incinerate on the original enemy.
All sorts of tricks really.
