Weapon Nerfs and Buffs

Avenger: Slower RoF and a smaller clip size. Funny how everyone complained that it was underpowered in ME2 and now it's even worse.
Mattock: Huge reduction in accuracy.
Revenant: 25% less ammo.
Viper: Slowed RoF and half the clip size.
Phalanx: Huge damage nerf. Only about 1/3rd as powrful as it was before. The laser sight is also gone.
Tempest: Even higher recoil (yeah, it's possible) than in ME2. Also has an RoF nerf and lower base accuracy.
Locust: Massive damage nerf.
Claymore: Longer reload time.
Buffs
Avenger: It has a faster reload speed. Funny how that's the only thing that improved.
Viper: Seems like it's a lot more powerful this time around.
Phalanx: Twice as much ammo.
Carnifex: Holy crap. This thing was buffed beyond recognition. It was already the best pistol in Me2 in terms of DPS but now it's probably the best gun in the game.
Shuriken: More damage per burst.
Claymore: More range.
Katana: More range and damage.
Scimitar: Seems like it packs a lot more power per shot, almost as much as the katana. This thing got incredibly buffed.
The predator, mantis and widow all seem pretty much the same as in ME2.

Not sure what people have against the Avenger it's an all around good gun, firing in bursts is effective at long range you can lay into people just fine at close range. That and it's the lightest AR too.

The Shuriken also seems to have a lot less recoil/inaccuracy issues. You can actually hit stuff more than a few feet in front of you with it now.

Doesn't change the fact that it was nerfed when it needed some buffs. Also, why nerf the RoF? I want an AR that fires fast without it being an LMG. Between the avenger and the tempest it looks like anything automatic fires more slowly and there's no RoF mod in the game.

Viper is not very good.
Widow is too heavy (weight), needs to be made a bit lighter.
Carnifex is a beast.

I heard that the weapons are all traaash because they can actually be upgraded. A mattock will be garbage at "I" but "X" will rip enemies a new *ss h*le! Or so I've heard
I agree about that. Also, my Avenger and Tempest seem to fire faster once I upgrade them which means my Avenger is no longer slower then the Mattck now that it's at level VI.

I think the Widow needs a slight damage buff, since its not that much better than a mantis (in overall effectiveness) but weighs a lot more and has less ammo. given it has a tremendous benefit of being able to shoot though thin objects and also through enemies, but a half skilled sniper can take off heads regardless since theyre always poking out of cover for some reason.
To be fair, once you get upgrades you'll be able to one shot shielded enemies with body shots.

Have you unlocked the Reverant yet? That might suit your needs.

Nope but I've seen footage and it has the same RoF as it did in ME2 which is 700 RPM. That's good but not awesome but I'll probably get around to using it on my soldier once I unlock it. It doens't change the fact that if I want a weapon with a decent ROF, I have to pick something that has a crazy weight.

Generally you just say something has been buffed or nerfed, not both.
Would it be better if I said that the Viper feels like a totally different gun now?

If it's true, why not?
Some guns have been boosted in some areas and nerfed in others.

Net gain or loss.
Overall something was either buffed or nerfed.
