I just finally unlocked him but i am not sure how to spec him. I don't want to screw his build up because of the lack of a reset option in the demo. What say ye, fellow Krogan headbutters?
Krogan Soldier build?

Max his rage ability and spec everything in it to melee damage, one hit every enemy on Bronze(save Atlas). Also, max Carnage, it does good damage and has a fairly good recharge and knock back. And put points into the ability above Rage, Berserk, I think it is. Fortifaction can be ignored, it doesn't really look like it does anything useful.

Also not sure but he seems to be made for melee.

From what Ive heard melee rage is the way to go, but it can be problematic on higher difficulties so if you plan on playing silver with him later on I'd say investing into fortification would be wise.

Carnage and Fortification and Rage.

Rage > Fortification > Carnage
Try to max out your melee damage and you'll one hit everything including phantoms in bronze and silver.

Honestly I'd recommend skipping carnage. I maxed it and it's fun and useful, but I would have rather focused my fortification on damage resist and melee instead of cooldown reduction and power damage.
Then I could have also taken Krogan Berserker and been as kickass with weapons as I am with melee, plus I could take 2 heavy weapons and not worry about the penalty.

I'm at a loss for what to do with my Krogan Soldier right now. He's level 18 and built to be a melee badass, but I maxed out Fortification and Rage with level 5 Inferno Grenade, 2 Krogan Berserker, and 1 Carnage. I still have 11 points left over and can't find anything useful to put points into. Only thing I can think of is max out Inferno Grenade, then put the rest in Krogan Berserker.

I maxed fort, Damage resistance focus, rage, health when possible, avoided on the kill stuff, save the last, only needing two kills for rage with strong damage blocking, you have the fastest shield recharge in the game for regen time (70% to at best 85%) and strong enough melee, to heavy attack that can one shot anything outside a shield, and utterly break a shield (Toss in a fast fire shotgun, and the phalanx) And you can 1-2 combo anything just about with those guns, since the heavy melee locks a target from running if it connects in firing. The krogan boost itself, should be maxed, especially looking to tank damage. Your a friggen monster on the battlefield, able to melee with ease on the silver mode with that, carnage is a great way to set up something, and to help deal with turrets, you biggest bane in the game, phantoms wont be able to insta drop shields either this way, it takes them nearly 3-4 shots to do that. Heck, even the atlas will take the same level of overall damage. Your looking about 1k health, and about 1.3k shields this way, with about 60% damage blocked. Inferno grenades are your cover breakers, and great against armor. Really, 3-4 for carnage/grenades as preference dictates, but really, i like 4 on both, for the level of hurt you can do, if 20 gives me enough, id take a 3rd grenade over carnage, but its a tough call, as both get alot of use against things.

Maxed out fort, berserk, rage and carnage. Whilst damage is solid, you'll still need heavy weapons to compete on gold. Soldier in general is underwhelming, perhaps heavies will fix that.

i love the Krogan Soldier. Gotta max out the melee damage; anything that improves toughness, and just start back-handing dudes across the battlefield. Who needs throw?

This. I see a lot of people advocating a pure melee build but is this build practical on Gold?

Yes. But you can't play him in actuality the same way you'd play him on Bronze.
You need to become CQC and nothing but CQC. Max carnage for damage, not cooldown speed, pop on the Claymore and nothing else, spec Martial Artist, get every Melee buff you can, and never go outside. First enemies appear, you purge the armor, find the one closest to you, melee him and his buddy, Fort goes back up. You Carnage the person just outside of your Heavy Melee hitbox, and Claymore anything you don't think you can hit with a Heavy Melee (smokescreens are your big weakness. Claymore gets through them). You stick close to your buddies, and you hang back. And when everyone is focused on that Atlas across the map, you resist (and this is the hardest thing), you resist to try helping in any way other than maybe a Carnage every now and then when its shields go down. Don't hunt for Rage targets the way that you would in Bronze or Silver, because you'll die. You're back line assistance, that's it.

Anyone got any thing more specific. Everyone say max out melee and health/shields but you have to chose between the two in krogan battle master. Which perks are better to take as melee and which for health.

Depends on if he is a Vanguard... or K.O. Han

Max damage reduction on fortification and full melee on rage. I put one point in grenades because I hate running out and being forced to run crate to crate-2 grenades is easy to manage, 4 is not.

This is my gold build-I only play gold.
