Is anybody else concerned about the friendliness?

The people who played the demo: What was it like for you guys? Did the people on there seem friendly or helpful?
Not only this, but what about trolls? There are people who will teamkill on most games just for the fun of it. Is there team killing in the demo for multiplayer?

Havent had an issue in game, played with many cool people, and the rest...they just never talked anyway.

However, if you do end up shooting a teammate, the character will say something along the lines of "knock it off" or "watch where you are shooting." You cant damage them, but its still funny to hear...makes you think "oops, my bad" or "well why the hell did you stand in front me right as i shot, you can clearly see this SNIPER rifle in my hands!!"

Then again, most people I've played with haven't had headsets...

Wave reset and I finished two more waves before getting killed. Was worth it.

Griefing in this doesn't seem like a very viable thing to do, the worst thing someone could do is just not participate at all or suicide on purpose but I've yet to see that happen (with a lot of hours played).
As for friendliness over the voice chat, I've only met 1 person that was being immature (constant profanities etc) over chat but he got quiet when I carried him through a Silver game and just treated him as part of the team, he even said good game at the end.
Although this is on the PC, the consoles might have more problems due to easier access to mics and the whole CoD/Halo scene, hopefully they will just stay away from ME3.
EDIT: Oh yea and you can just mute voice chat if you want, it's not really needed until Gold and even thats possible without it.

But I've accepted random co-op/multiplayer rudeness as par for the course. Therefore, if sufficiently annoyed, I will play obnoxious music over the headset (or just, you know, yell at stupid people).
Though... I haven't experienced any yet, thankfully, as I am currently lacking a headset.

I had two people bail on me in middle of a wave as I was pinned down and could not help them. They could not understand why I just did not run and save them when they had three people around and I had a altus on me.

My favorite is people who are dumb enough to walk in front of a turret, get downed, and then get mad that i didnt rush to revive them. Im like "dude....turret?" idiots.

Honestly, i think because ME is a mature game, and appeals to the older crowd (20's+), i havent come across many immature brats as i thought i would on Xbox. I figured because it was a free demo, all the lil Halo kiddies would be playing, but if they are...they arent using their mics. Most people either dont use their mics, or have been pretty mature (and usually big ME fans)

As for people not pulling their weight. Hasn't really happened yet. I mean, you can tell when soemone is new, but new players is a good thing, means the game is popular.

Overall a fun experience. I only occasionally have to deal with incompetence or rookies.

Has anybody else noticed that these forums are a lot more aggressive than most other forums? You say one thing that somebody disagrees with and they all start ganging up on you and flaming at you. Are these the people that we want to play with?
Well, I don't know what other forums you go on, but BSN is pretty standard compared to most other forums i've seen.

as far as agressive postings on the forum there probably will be a rise in these types of posts because it's multi-player and there are always going to be people who take it too seriously and rage on the people they feel "cost" them their Gold run

Honestly, text chat might ruin the courtesy to some extent. I find that people are horribly snarky to others over text chat more often than voice. Might be the anonymity factor, but it's definitely there. We'll see.

But yeah, otherwise, barely anyone uses a mic (huge surprise for me - but I'm sure they'll be more when the real game comes out) and everyone helps each other out when they can. It's just hard sometimes when someone falls and a pack of enemies surround the body.

But nothing like what you'd expect from these forums, not remembering it's a new co-op demo, one which progress is lost in and feels they waste time with the unwashed unskilled masses.

- Friendly and cooperative players.
- Rookies.
- People that don't talk.
Never seen a rager/flamer or anything like that.

The only time I encountered any jerks was a guy who was level 13 in Bronze and loudly sighed and complained when level 1s tried to play with us. And he tried getting us to kick a level 1 who meekly replied he was trying out another character. I got so annoyed at the snob I left with the other person who was listening quietly with me. I wish I could've heard him after we both left.

And for these forums being aggressive ... you should pay a visit to the TF2 SPUF forum or the EAUK Battlefield 3 forum some time. The EAUK BF3 forums earned themselves the nickname "Mordor" because of the hate/flame/s***storm going on sometimes.

and the player that did happen to use his mic was raging at the team (bronze level btw) for stealing his kills and how we suck and are *********** and other colorful words that made me wish I could see who was talking in game so I could mute him

I'd never played any mp apart from the occasional pvp in wow and now swotor, and have found this to be surprisingly similar. Not really any chat (Certainly not from me, hate hearing my own voice over a mic ), apart from one guy giving us helpful advise.
We all just got on with the job, stuck together as a team and ended up running two successful missions in a row with the same team which was good - really felt the camaraderie. If it wasn't at the end of a tiring day for me I would've played more.
I'd only just started so was the lowest level, died more than the others but helped out as much as I could as well. Was in Bronze, and the other players obviously realised I'd just started so didn't give me any grief.
All in all I enjoyed myself more than I expected to and will certainly put more time in once March gets here.
