This is not a per-requisite for playing and please don't assume that I am suggesting it is but its more of a way of getting a group with common interests/backgrounds. Nobody ever heard of a group of hardcore only gamers or female only groups and so on???? Naturally anyone can ask to join and I wouldn't be one to decline but if personal discourse effects their performance in a match for example then that would ruin the match/game itself.

With this backwards logic, I'm convinced you are a troll, as your profile picture shows.

First, the picture is an Orc not a Troll.

And the logic isn't backwards.

Saying "I don't want to hang around with straight people because they are potential homophobes" is the same as saying "i don't want to hang around a muslim because he is a potential terrorist".

Ps. I live in a country were saying either of those things will get you in court.

The only problem I have with gay people is, that whenever I talk to one, I picture him doing some guy and for some reason that makes me uncomfortable.

Gay people expressing desire to not be around people who're potentially homophobic/abusive doesn't really equal straight people not wanting to be around gay people just because they're gay. There's a difference there.

Hope that helps.

And that is KKK logic.

"I don't want to hang around a muslim because they are a potentially terrorist."

No.

The LGBT community/muslim community face prejudice, insults, even persecution and violence because of their gender/sexual orientation/what they believe in.

Straight people/Christians don't.

It's not oppression to ask for an LGBT exclusive space. For them, it's a safe space where they can communicate freely with other people, and not be afraid of hurtful comments/homophobia. I think we straight people can deal with not being included in every single thing that goes on in the universe.

Because wanting to hang out with people are against you is the way to go.

Come on people, leave OP alone. Logically, yes, the better approach would be "Group for LGBTQ and Allies" or something of the like, but he's not being "heterophobic".  That term in and of itself is offensive, so full of straight privilage it's not even funny.

Wow. An Orc, huh? Big difference.

The OP is not discriminating.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but he never expressed contempt towards straight people.
And, he's not profiling people based on stereotypes.

Fantasyland sounds like a beautiful country, but for those of us living in the real world, we don't want to put ourselves in situations of prejudice if we can avoid it.

When did I ever say I don't wish to hang with straight people or muslims??? I wanted like-minded individuals who wouldn't bring prejudice or bias into a group and ruin the gaming environment with that. The most obvious thing is for you to mention your not intereted in joining and do the "moving on" dance as only an Orc can do.

Nether do I. Still, heterosexism is almost everywhere, and I'm yet to discover an LGBTQ utopia. I have a couple of friends who'd very much like a one way ticket, I presume.

You did a great job of ignoring everything I just said.

What I would do in that situation is not what we're discussing.

I know I'm not the OP, but can this thread not get back on topic, it's becoming somewhat of a hate thread. If you don't like the purpose of the thread, then report it, I see no need to spam it and take it off course.

I say it again, there is nothing malicious about this thread, and definitely no intention in offence.

I know I'm not the OP, but it's kinda blatant there's no malice behind it.

Well, you know, I'm always searching for a chance to oppress dem gays! When I go on XBL, the first thing I say is "Is anyone here gay so I can blurt out a bunch of homophobic nonsense?"

Get over yourself.

My skin is way to thick to be offended by any of this even the diverting posts but I cannot say it hasn't provided me bounds of entertainment in some of the reactions and the "really did I just read that reaction" as a matter of fact my ribs almost hurt enough after some posts that I was worried of internal bleeding but I just took that like a Krogan.

If I said the N word, everyone would be up in arms.  If I said ****, no one would give a ****.  That's the culture we live in, and it's awful.  You don't notice because you're straight, and you have pop culture and media catered to your way of living.

Lots of straight people say things like, "that guy is so gay", and, "what a camping f@ggot". they give it no second thought whether someone may take offence.

It's like saying "that's so retarded", in front a someone mentally handicapped.

Oh, don't get me wrong. The ignorance in this thread is hilarious, but I like the intentions of this thread and don't want it to get locked. I didn't actually think anyone here was actually getting offended, but the direction it's headed isnt a good one, and not one that is accepted in these forums.

I just reccomend getting it back on track, ignoring any comments that aren't a decent contribution and carry on with the thread.

Fantasyland? The Prime minister of my country is a homosexual immigrant who can't speak the language of the majority of the people. And you know what?

NOBODY HERE CARES ABOUT ANY OF THOSE THINGS.
