Always a single weapon on any class. Ammo is never an issue and most weapons are general purpose enough. It's simply not worth extending cooldowns on any class, so keeping weight down is more important.

Pistol on my agent.
Sniper rifle on my Infiltrator.
I rely on powers and team mates for enemies that my weapons aren't effective against, but it's simply not worth the recharge time trade off to carry 2 weapons imo. Maaaaaaybe on soldier.

Heavy modified Mantis only for my infiltrator. Kill almost everything at long range and could be used as a shotgun in short range. What could i want more ? Unlock new sniper rifles and not useless shotguns...

My Krogan soldier carries a shotgun for the increased melee damage and a scoped pistol for sniping guardians through their little viewport.
Other than that, I keep one weapon on each class. Vanguard carries a shotgun, human soldier carries the Phalanx (scoped with the +damage barrel), Engineer carries a submachine gun (scoped with extended mag). I don't have any assault rifle mods yet, so I don't really use assault rifles.

Vanguard: Shotgun
Sentinel: Avenger AR
Adept: Avenger AR but gonna try pistol to lighten the load

Sentinel: Tempest and Phalanx, and sometimes just the Avenger or Mattock.
Infiltrator: Viper and Phalanx
Vanguard: Scimitar and Tempest.

I only ever use 1, and a very light one at that.
Recharge speed for everything ~< 1 second. Warps/incinerates everywhere

Luckily, ammo is rarely an issue in MP.
So for my engineer, I take only the Avenger. I just unlocked the Mattock, but it's much heavier, and at the moment, isn't upgraded as much as my Avenger.
It's pretty light, and packs a decent punch. I have a scope for range, so it's a pretty versatile weapon while allowing me to use CD with rapid succession.
My vanguard has a Shotgun I use almost exclusively. Sometimes I'll bring the predator with me for long range kills. It's especially useful when you're waiting for the shuttle (as vanguard) to arrive for extraction and don't want to risk running (or charging) too far away from it

Is it possible to increase recharge speed above 200%? I switched from shotgun (151%) to assault rifle (200%), but I can't get anything higher.

Just out of curiousity, what class are you normally, and how many weapons do you use?
Also, has anyone tried playing without weapons at all? You get a 200% power cooldown reduction, so I thought that maybe someone tested it out, to see how effective it may be.
Phalanx with scope does the trick for me. On soldier I bring an assault rifle as well, or shotgun. I have played many of the classes, but mostly Soldier, Adept and Sentinel.

I only played the Soldier. I used the Mattock Assault Rifle and the Mantis Sniper Rifle (I think that's it; the 1 shot wonder). I tried the Shotgun and it sucked. I shot a dude 10 ft away and they didn't even react beyond turning to shoot me in the face. Haven't used a Sidearm beyond the Single Player, same with the SMG (recoil made it suck, lol).
SO. Assault and Sniper Rifles. Oh, and Sidearms. = D

Sentinal and Engineer. Use my Tempest and Phalanx on both of them. High CD and some good shooting too with the mods I have.
