http://steamcommunit...50470078712099?

Take a look. Full story of what happened that match and the match after is in the comments.

Slightly NSFW - Foul language within. (Yeah yeah, I know. Swearing is bad. It's a habit I've been trying to break.)

Feel free to discuss this in the topic btw. That's what it's for.

Also if you feel like adding me to play a bit of MP together, well.

I'm afraid I don't accept random friend invites unless the person asks beforehand.

Edit - By the way, for those of you might be downrating the topic because of the title or some such, 'Newbie' isn't a slur. It just means 'New player'.

'Noob' however is.

I was in a bronze game yesterday with only one other player. He never left the spawn and died about twice each wave. Since it was only bronze, we managed to survive all waves.

Not really sure if you're trying to troll, or if you're trying to be funny, or what.

The fact that it was bronze isn't my point.

My point is that I did them a huge favor by saving that botched match for them, and they returned that in full by being on-hand in the next one (Which was silver, by the way) in case I fell, and I only did so once.

They also learned to stay on the move and not to camp at one spot too long, which is what ultimately kept them from getting their butts handed to them by that Phantom that snuck up on me.

Only reason it did was because we were all focused on the Atlas that was firing rockets at us, so none of us noticed it in time to keep myself from dying.

Fact of the matter is, they went from full-on newbies to average joes that know the meaning of 'teamwork', in the course of ONE match, probably because they observed my playstyle and learned what to do and what not to do.

One match.

That's a hell of a lot faster than most of the newbies I've had the (dis)pleasure of meeting in the demo's online co-op.

Comes with the territory when you play bronze. Saying that, I'm still consider a newbie going by my level, but I can survive 8 waves without dying. I and my teammates on one match had trouble with a level 40 something who thought he was tough enough to go off on his own, but he kept dying.

Modest much?, this is one of the reasons I don't play MP, if you can't have fun without getting overly serious, it's no longer a game.

Heh. I've been playing over the course of three, almost four days myself, doing nothing but online co-op all day because I've got nothing better to do, and have amassed an N7 rank of 103 as of now.

Though the game did glitch and throw a bunch of credits my way, might as well put them to use since nothing in the demo is being transferred over to the main game.

I've beaten Bronze and Silver so far, both using my Turian Sentinel.

And for people who say Sentinels are a crap class, then my friend, you have not seen me play.

I rarely use cover on my Sentinel except for when I need to let my shield recharge, and I rush into the midst of a group of enemies with my Revenant going full blast 90% of the time.

The only things that've made me die with this strategy so far are Phantoms, Atlases, and occasionally, turrets.

It's not a matter of if the class is worthless, it's a matter of whether you've got the skill to play it, and whether or not you know what exactly you're meant to do.

Right now, I probably last a hell of a lot longer than a Krogan Soldier. And that's saying something.

If I was trying to be modest, I would have posted this without so much as a single response after the fact.

I may seem 'too srs when gaming GRR', but that's mostly due to the way I talk. I've gained a rather expansive vocabulary over the years, and most people think I'm being a Serious Steve when in fact, I'm just talking like I usually do.

I'd rather be myself and make a few friends, instead of acting like someone I'm not and make a bunch of friends who will no doubt learn later that it was all a lie.

And as for 'fun', I don't get serious at all. I just mow down as many Cerberus troops as I can, and if a teammate falls, I'll help them up and hang back to make sure they stay alive.

There's a rather fine line between 'serious' and 'teamwork'.

Edit: Unintentional doublepost. Sorry about that.

Wow, you're so good at playing a multiplayer demo, it's awesome! Screw those n00bs that aren't awesome already and don't spend hour after hour in a demo from which nothing will carry over to the full game and probably are RP-gamers, not shooterfans!

Funny thing about that, I suck at shooters, and I rarely ever play them.

The only shooters I'm actively playing at the moment are ME3 and S4 League.

I'm the worst at FPS games, and I'm only relatively decent at most TPS games.

I've just spent a lot of time practicing with the Sentinel is all.

I mean, who doesn't love Turians?

Edit: I like how you didn't read the entire OP and assumed right off the bat that I hate newbies.

I don't. Without newbies, there would be nobody to play with. I just feel good about finding three awesome players like them is all.

Um, I get the moral at the end of the story but I have to side with the majority here, you could have told the tale with a tad more modesty.

It really seems like this should be posted in the multiplayer forum.

Y'know, topics like this are the exact reason why a lot of ME fans were de-crying the inclusion of MP in this series. You elitist GoW/CoD people make me sick.

I've never played MP before ME, and I enjoy it a lot, and have talked with a lot of really great people (who happen to also play Gears and gave me good tips)...but even these people are telling me--"Wait until this opens to the wider public, then the douchbaggery will REALLY begin".

Quit complaining and posting stupid vids. If you are getting sick of Rezzing someone, then find a quiet group of your friends to MP with and stick to that group. It's not a hard concept. No one plays MP just to go in and suck at it.

And btw, the difference between "newbies" and "n00bs" is....laughable. One isn't nicer or more mature than the other, pumpkin.

And yet another person doesn't read the entire OP.

I'm not 'Elitist'. I understand that everyone was and may or may not still be new. I understand that some people are still learning. And I never said I was sick of resurrecting people, because that's what 'teamwork' is about.

I've never played CoD, and the only Gears I've played is the first, which wasn't really that good in my opinion.

I don't post videos, and I don't complain about players unless they're being a general nuisance.

It's sad how many people only skim the OP instead of reading it in its entirety.

And aye, I agree, I may have lacked a bit of modesty, but that was a 'spur of the moment' post, and between the exhaustion and my cat begging for food like she usually does when dinner rolls around, I couldn't come up with any better way to say it.

I may go back over it later and edit it to be a tad bit more modest, but until then.. Well.

This is only post I will leave in here. Just jesting as OP doesn't seem a bad guy after explains himself further down in thread it was just the title of the thread and initial post that gives wrong impression.

Ah, I see now.

Aye, I understand how that might give the wrong impression. I apologize for that. I'll try to word the titles/OP better in the future.

For now, though, I've got a friend waiting for me to start a match.

Ciao.

I've got to agree with the majority, too: Your posts seem far from modest.
I don't judge that, but if you got an expensive vocabulary, you should be able to tell the tale a different way.

But to be honest, I can understand you.
I don't count myself to the good players. I stick with bronze and played ME2 on veteran as hardest difficuilty-setting. Basically, because I like it a bit more easy and to enjoy the story.
But given what I've experienced so far, I wouldn't count myself to the worst players in ME3 ;).

I think some people encountered the phenomena of having to handle a bronze-match relatively alone.
I think I may be able to count myself to these people.

I think what makes you so excited as that you post your story here, is that these guys learned.
Sadly I've got to agree: Many people leave when they die first each round and can't be revived, because they ran head- and plan-less into the mob-group and fall in a wink.

I think I may have played a round or two with Polaris yesterday. Good to see my name isn't in that screenshot.
