I played it as a female just yesterday. I was surprised that I got to kill a character who showed up later on for other origins. I really really thought they'd deny me that. It felt like killing Howe in the first act.
Eh, it's not that bad. Vaughn's entire role is sitting in a dungeon 40 hours later. Not exactly a major role.

400,000 copper pieces!!!!
Now that I think of it, situations like that are probably part of the reason for the Copper-Silver-Gold system... offer 400,000 coins to a player in the first ****ing hour of playing and they won't be thinking "But my cousin is there!" , they'll be thinking "HOLY **** 400,000 COINS GIMME GIMME GIMME"

400,000? He offered me 40 sovereigns! I thought "that is such bull****, he won't give me that... wait, will he? No, I must murder him dangit, I'm roleplaying the female Punisher for gods sake! But 40 gold! NO MUST KILL!"
Well, 40 sovereigns is 400,000 copper coins, which is the point of my post. I was saying that situations like that are probably part of the reasoning for the Copper-Silver-Gold system. If it was just copper, stuff like that would happen. Huge numbers tend to override moral fiber.

I'm a good source of moral fiber. Not only was I not tempted by the money, I was trying very hard to be a good person and not murder him outright. Luckily, I still got to kill him

But, no, it's not. It's base 100, not base 1,000,000. Now idea how I made that mistake. 400,000 copper is 40 gold.
Did anyone take that? Does he seriously give that to you?

Oh, I thought one of you said it was 400,000 silver. Which, for some reason I quickly calculated to only being .4 gold.

He does give it to you, but unless you stash it, it just gets taken away. If you DO stash it, you can get it back once you go back to the Arl of Denerim's estate during the Landsmeet.

But, he payed in blood instead!
How dare he kill my good-looking future husband? He could have killed my cousins mousy bride, but noooo.

You can tell that her and Morrigan got along famously.
Ironically playing a male city elf when you see your bride to be, it's quite the jaw dropping moment. She is totally worth the ball and chain. I'm still trying to figure out how they got such a drop dead beautiful face out of the character creator.

The toolset is vastly superior. I mean, look at my elf's ears. You can't get those with the CC.
Though I'm going to have to make a male City Elf and see this beauty for myself.

The Arl's family just got a little bit shorter . . . I mean, smaller.

In the end of my first playthrough (human noble) I killed Vaughn in the dungeon as well. Just didn't like the cut of the guy, even before I knew what a jerk he was.

That's not a way to get ahead in life.
That's using your head.
Heads-up!
Pity you won't be getting more facetime
Oooo, he ain't gonna' be in Dragon Age 2!
Ok I'm done.

Well, at least I managed to head off any other crimes he might have committed. Man, what a headcase.
