You are following the objective and pulling your weight. I think they are just embarrassed a non-combat focused class beat them to the kill.

If you hear them complaining, just mute them, not worth anyone's time.

That doesn't bother me personally, the sooner a group is down the better, then we can go after the things shooting us in the backs.
Whats really bad and missing the point of this co-op MP are those that charge off alone all the time, especially during the upload bits. I tend to not do the hacking ones but will take a defense of it or clear the path but will always stay in the ring of upload, others don't even do that and then those who block the tunnel and don't get extracted because they have to kill everything.

Killstealing is BS, no such thing. If they've done most of the damage they're racking up most of the points anyway.

Every class can be played as a kill class in this game.
This. Hard. I often top the boards on my engineer and adept (bronze and silver runs; I'm nowhere near ready for gold).

exactly, what do they want you to do? sit behind a wall somewhere twisting your tumbs? engi's are lean mean killing machines (tough for silver i switch from my quarian to my human engi, nothing beats overload against phantoms)

Bro, you don't know what is hate... you don't play a melee speced class that basically just runs in a pack of enemies and runs out to search for another one when the pulp left behind can't be separated into specific bodies.
you forget about the 90% of the times where you die horribly in a place where none of your teammates can ress you and then rage quit instead of waiting till the end of the wave or if your persistent, **** at your team for not ressing you while you have 2 turrets pointing at you

Happens rarely, but again - I speced the character for maximum melee dammage and maximum durability, charging one turret is perfectly doable, two would be a problem indded.
