Hi gals and guys. I'm almost done with second play through. I chose alistair to be king, declined morrigans  offer. How do I make sure I'm the one who dies when I kill the arch demon ? Do I have to land the last blow ? Will it happen automatically ? What must I do ?

After the Archdemon is defeated, you'll get a dialogue with the other remaining Grey Warden where you can let them do it or choose to do it yourself.



Now, I've heard that there's a situation where Alistair removes that choice from you and does it himself without even consulting you, but not sure what specifically triggers it.

From what I've been told, a romance with Alistair triggers him removing the choice from you.

You can just not take Alistair with you. That pretty much insures it.

I romanced Leiliana and not Alistair. Took the deathblow myself. I cried at my funeral.
