Is there any way to change the email address for my account because I accidentally mixed the hotmail and gmail accounts i possess when joining and so I wish to link my account to an email address that I actually own.

You can only change your e-mail address on the EA profile site. The FAQ explains the process but if you use IE or Safari, possibly also Firefox, there's a good chance you can't access it right now.
