I've looked on the forum for any information but could find none. I presume tech-bursting is the warp explosion equivalent for tech classes. I'm a level 18 engineer and I see I kill enemies by [tech-burst] once in a blue moon.

I have gotten a tech-burst kill randomly by using overload and then incinerate one after the other on the same target but whenever I intentionally try it it's just considered an incinerate kill. I have also tried using incinerate on a frozen target and that still counts as an incinerate kill. So my question is, what do you need to do to get tech-bursts, what power combinations cause them, and what is the benefit to them?

Edit:

CONFIRMED BURSTS

Incinerate(or ANY power that causes the target to visually dance from fire) + Overload = Fire Explosion (like overloading pyros from ME2)

Try incinerate then overload.

Me as a sentinal using overload and my friend as an engineer were combo killing everything in sight. I would wait for him to cast his incinerate and then bam i would cast overload and its raining bits of flesh :)

Hope that helps.

i think that incinerate and cryo combo is glitched. it doesnt show up as a cryo explosion all the time, but im pretty sure it is. not sure about the tech, i only play quarian engineer.

Yeah I believe its incinerate then overload, not the other way around.

Overload has no/very little damage over time - hence the need for Incinerate first. I'm not sure though - it may be possible to tech burst an overloaded enemy if they've been stunned by it.

I just tried Incinerate + Overload and it works consistently. It doesn't say tech-burst for the kill but I read [Fire Explosion] for anyone caught in the blast produced. Awesome! If anyone knows any more I'll post more effects!

In the post match report it should say tech kills. That is if you killed 5, 10 etc enemies that way.

Shameless bump, I'm still interested in looking for more information on tech-bursts. I learned that as long as the enemy is on fire (incendiary ammo for example), using overload will still cause the Fire Explosion effect.
Does anyone know any more tech combinations?
