Honestly, I really don't think EA or Bioware cares. Legally they might but all it means is people are excited to get the game. As long as they pay with real money, it's all good. The people who should really care are the retailers themselves. If a little shop sells it early, that's 1 less sale they get. Lucky for me. I work for a subsidiary for Best Buy(that means employee discount) and every local store shows they have they game(but you can't "order" it until the 3rd.



And before you ask me to get you a cheap price...sorry...can't. Believe it or not, Best buy really keeps track of it. They know if you buy 20 digital cameras in a month that something is not right and the employee discount is good enough whereby it behooves them to protect it).

Just to give some information. I have a Phenom 9950 (2.6ghz) 2gb ram, radeon 4870 512mb card. All settings maxed at 1680*1050 and the game is extremely smooth so far, which is what I expected honestly.

I heard windows 7 makes the game disc snap crackle and pop akin to when they are put in a microwave. Don't blame Microsoft though, Windows 7 was your idea.

How much AA are you using?

I sort of think the early-game reports on framerate are likely to be a bit generous, as enemy counts and effects don't start to pile up until later on.

I agree.  I worked for EB for 2 years, and we only put product on the shelf early if the street date was broken by another company.  I can't remember the company breaking street date the whole time I was there.  Now I know toys R Us has done it a few times.  To say that EB/Gamestop is notorious for anything involving streetdate... Well all you can say is they are the last company to do so. 

The company has probably done it before, but all companies have done it before.  Don't pigeon hole EB with all the blame tho.

It sucks that some got lucky, and got their copies early.  Unless you are one of them.  Which I unfortunately am not.

Not trying to hate on EB but in Australia i want a game and cant wait for release date i goto EB they always do it. My experience not a hate thing for Eb so we clear.

The stone prisoner, and the other stuff is available right away. Warden's Keep is available for purchase but I haven't purchased it, I will wait for some reviews on WK before buying it.

I have AA at 8x, which is the max.

Edit: Also, the codex so far is quite extensive and I am still in the mage origin.

Is it just me, or is the social site running extremely slow?

I finished the mage origin, took me about 2.5 hours or so. I imagine it could take people either a half hour more, or a half hour less. I also didn't read much of the codex yet, I was too anxious to play the game.



I will not give any spoilers of course, but I enjoyed the mage origin quite a bit.

I do not know yet. You have to be level 7 to get to that point, will be awhile before I get there. I finished mage origin, but now I am doing city elf. I felt like seeing that origin
