Redoing ME1 and ME2.
Started character.
Remembered that the game caps you at 50 the first time around, instead of the real cap of 60.
What I did so far to try and get my character past 50:
-Downloaded someone else's end game save and finished the game
-Console commanded the achievement that supposedly unlocks 51-60

Doesn't seem to work, though finishing the game off someone else's save also gave me the achievement and unlocked hardcore difficulty. I've been playing on hardcore for the majority of the game, but now I've hit level 50 and am capped.

This feels like it should be SUCH a simple fix, like removing a flag, but I have found no console command for it, I have found no save game editor (the critical mass achievement editor doesn't work).

Can anyone help? Or am I going to have to die of a massive facepalm that something like this can't be fixed?

If you started the character BEFORE you unlocked the extra levels, then it will not go above 50 until you start an NG+. Once you have the achievement, then all games started after are supposed to be uncapped.

That seems to be how it works, yes. I'm hoping someone knows of a way to edit the save/character to just switch the cap off. It's probably something as stupidly simple as changing a line of code form true to false or whatever, but I have no idea how to edit the save files.

I'm in the exact same boat as you were, since it is about 2 months later. Did you ever find a solution to your problem?
