Hello!

I know this is a silly question - but I seem to be unable to use my previous face code generated on xbox 360 on the PC Version AND/OR the Xbox 360 Version of the ME3 demo. Even if I set up a new career the face generated by this code ( 122.WSD.RGI.S31.MAN.E9B.SLG.7HL.J87.4R6.113.5 ) looks nothing like the expected result. Nothing fits, i'm playing a white male shepard and this code generates a black one ;D - So either the code displayed in-game is wrong or something changed. The weird thing is this: The code is 100% correct (I've double checked) and taken from a working, non corrupted ME2 Campaign save in the game menue. So what to do, manually redesign his face?

I'm confused, cuz those codes used to work...

Having read and re-read your post it seems to me that you should be asking the question on the ME3 boards rather than ME2 boards. You're trying to get something to work in ME3, right? It makes more sense to check what is there to seek an answer.

EDIT: I fired up ME2 on my 360 and the code generates a 'black' Shepard. Take that for what you will.

Wow, you actually tried my code? That's nice! Trouble is - the code works nowhere. Not even in ME2 - thats the crazy thing about it. Well, thanks for trying. But this character is from ME1 and the game probably messed up the code....yikes...

Yes, I went through the unskippable intro to test the code out for confirmation....

I recall reading somewhere (probably recalling incorrectly as well...) that characters imported from ME into ME2 didn't always show a face code. There was a mention of having to edit it so a face code does come up. But there were some seemingly minor changes from 1 to 2, like the loss of facial scars. Not sure if that's a factor in that something changed.

Not sure who would have more knowledge on this. I would like to suggest the character boards especially the mod threads to see if they are aware of a problem. Unfortunately there's not much I can add to the subject.

This is the jist of it. Characters made in ME1 and imported in ME2 don't (or rather shouldn't) show face codes because there are some slight differences between the ME1 and ME2 values with things such as eye color. So you can't exactly create your ME1 character in ME2 using the character creator, but you can get damn close. (You can get an approximate code by exporting your save file to USB, converting it to a PC save, and hacking into the save file, but it takes a lot of math).

What I think the OP is experiencing is this: If you import a ME1 character into ME2, but before confirming your imported face you try to edit it and then back out of the edit to confirm the imported face anyway, your ME2 squad screen will erroneously show you the face code of the face you edited, not the face you imported.

Okay ... dang! ;D
I've looked through the method Janus proposed (thx!) - it's probably a good idea NOT to do this *hehe*
However, thx for the heads up guys.

I think it shows a wrong face code - cuz this code makes no sense at all. I've played ME on the PC and when the sequel hit - i've switched to 360 with a nice little bargain on the classic ME. So - the face started in ME1 carried over to ME2 with probably the error you described. With ME3 arround the corner and no gamepad support whatsoever I'm probably best off with just get over it and play ME3 with that save on the 360. Bummer...

And hey OBakaSama, really appreciated dude :D

When I did it, I started a new ME2 game with my imported Shepard and when I woke up in Lazarus base I saved it to USB. This way I wouldn't screw up the save file I already had.

According to this link:

"Some ME2 saves will not be able to import the face-file of your Shepherd. You will need to re-create the appearance when importing the file."

Thanks to the User "Epic Legion" - I was able to successfully extract and convert my Xbox 360 save file to a pc save game. The face code is still wrong, but the character is essentially the same. I'm now able to import to me3. And that pretty much solves the problem ;)

I even managed to play the glitched quest with this Conrad verner guy, it's only playable on xbox360 with a "hacked" save game. But that's not needed if you have a copy of me2 on the pc ;)
