Who here loves playing the infiltrator? I have the human female/salarian and I really like them both, but which is the better sniper?

Your loadout? I prefer the viper/smg since I'm an ok shot, but I need the extra ammo the viper gives over the traditional one-shot of the mantis

Or do some perfer sniper/pistol? or sniper/ar?

I prefer the Widow. Always have I always will.

I've been trying for days now to unlock the Salarian and it's really pissing me off.

Pure sniper Mantis only. Cloak, headshot, rinse, repeat. Rez without worrying and complete objectives easily.

I have a Salarian Infiltartor, too, and I stick with the Mantis.  Upgrading the gun and having an extra ammo mod makes the low ammo concern obsolete (I have 34 shots ATM).  I've also learned how to reload quicker for it.

When the picture in the lower left with your gun shows that a new clip is in, immediatley press Y.  It'll skip the rest of the animation, shaving off about 0.5 to 1 second. 

I've cleared maps with squadmates using only the Mantis.  And while individual scores aren't really important, I'm usually the top one.

Slarian is better hands down.  energy drain is a ridiculously good skill. 

Unless you are great with headshots, you should use mantis, which is approximately 3 times as powerful as viper.  Hit the enemy with energy drain and you have 3 seconds to aim for his body.  If you can't do that, you shouldn't be playing shooters.

I just cloak and get up close with my tempest atm. I haven't unlocked the salarian yet or the widow, but when i do I suppose I'll go back to sniping

I just use Mantis X I'm an above average shot, probably 20+ headshots a game, and several guardian "mail slots"

I use an assault rifle and act more as a support player, using tactical cloak to rescue downed players in difficult places and to out flank difficult enemies, suprised that more people don't do it!

My Salarian Infiltrator uses a Scimitar and a scoped Carnifex for the occasional long-range kill. There is something so satisfying about cloaking, killing a couple of Guardians with a well-placed Proximity Mine and then shotgunning a couple more enemies. By then, cloak is off cooldown and rinse and repeat.

I unlocked Krogan Soilder and Turain Infiltrator both on the first day. I hate them both two. Although, I use the Turian to unlock quick money.
Leveling a Drell Vanguard at the moment.

Stop playing with newbs then, I garntee you wouldn't carry my Squad, we all average 40k - 50k a game on a silver. Not everyone of course, some people drop in points 'cause of others getting more, but all in all we're all capable of doing it, with sprayiers and biotics. Infiltrator is nice to have a long. When I unlock it, I'll be that infiltrator.

 Infiltrator was the first character I took to 20. Play alot with friends, and we have since tried leveling up a wide variety of character, but I am the only one to really love the infiltrator. 

If you can snipe quick, they are a great support class
*sneak plant objectives, or sneak behind enemy lines to get that key target down
*able to blast down and at least weaken the bigger foes
*run into chaos with cloak to get up teamates who need revive under heavy fire.

I basically play it like a sniper, but also like a medic

Widow III with extended mags and extended barrell all the way baby. One shot, one kill.

I suck at sniping and I am useless to the group, so I play my Salarian Infiltrator as a Phantom: rushing behind the enemy lines to cause havoc.

Sneak, Energy Drain, finishing off my target with my SMG. Going to the next target. Now I'm useful!

Mmm i can see good infils being really good. I'm still practicing on my Salarian but i can now do well in bronze and silver. Just unlocked the Asari Adept so might give that a whirl today.

Im just not good with tanks/heavymelee/krogans. Im more of a rogue/mage type i suppose.

I actually took a different route with my Infiltrator. Upgraded her Cloak first thing and switched from a sniper to a shotgun. I'm a flanking machine. And my cooldown is so quick (and I can use one power before my cloak disappears) that I pretty much go around doing this:

Cloak -> Flank -> Cryo -> Shotgun -> Melee -> Cloak

It works great on Bronze/Silver, though I've yet to give my Infiltrator a go on Gold. I wouldn't really be able to move around the same way on that difficulty.

I use my infiltrator (just now l20 too) with viper and avenger x combined with tac cloak and cryo blast it can deliver a nice punch at any range, tho it requires you to aim well

So does Avenger 10+Overload makes it easy to kill on my Sentinl (Can't figure out how to spell Sentinl) and if required cancel my Tech armor delivering an awesome punch to all enemies around me. 

Not that I ever need to use it, it's currently 19 and beasty in Silver, leveling a Dreel Vanguard at the moment though. Still waiting for my Salarian Infiltrator to pop up.

I have my human infiltrator built like a shotgun infiltrator, but run with the tempest only that way my cloak recharges in no time. I get in close, fire on them and finish with a heavy melee then cloak to the next target/objective. But my Salarian infiltrator is more traditional with the widow and energy drain he is a beast!

i tried shotty but i find that i can drop enemies just as fast with my Mattock and a quick trigger finger.  Its range is also much more versatile, in those situations where you need to either wait for extraction or hacking something, your team is locking down the area so you cant really run around like you usually do.

I still use the faster sniper rifle since the damage bonus from cloak is usually enough for a oneshot on basic guys. Still mostly playing on silver though, maybe it'll change in gold.

Favourite aspect is how easy it is to do grab kills. My sentinel and infiltrator are the only guys I manage to get a gold rating (medal/pin/badge/whatever) on grabbing.

I also have the female and Salarian... for my salarian i usually bring the viper sniper and either my hornet SMG, the Phalenx HG, or the first handgun you get (I forgot what it's called). With my human female I bring shmiter (don't know how to spell it) shotgun or the Mattock AR and the Tempest SMG or the Hornet SMG
