I don't mean while playing actual combat, but when I am watching the conversation between characters, there is a frame rate drop even if there is only two simple characters in frame, and they are the only thing being rendered.
I see it also when characters are walking and having a conversation throughout the beginning sequences of the demo. The only time I don't see this happen, is before and during the part with the child in the air vent.
The combat is fluid for the most part. I like it much more than the other Mass Effects, it feels like you are allowed to look up and down in the game engine. The mobilty factor is nice. The previous Mass Effect games seemed like they didn't really focus on tall objects in the environment as much as wide objects. Mass Effect 3 feels like you are meant to not only get a feel for how far away and 3 dimensional an object is, but also how tall, how high up objects or events are taking place in the world, and feels more like looking around in a real world and less like a typical shooter engine. Less like the older corridor/room style of mass effect 1 and 2.
The enemies seem like they will have the challenge factor of more intense shooters like Rainbow six or call of duty, and less of the slow flow of lost planet, but the mechanics remain subtle enough to grant players the ability to "get used" the controls, and grant those who play more frequently, to gain an upper hand.
I am truly enticed by what I have seen, I wish I could just have the game fall from space and break my roof open so i could play it now!
