So I've been running most of my characters with only one weapon in order to maximize recharge times on abilities. Still not certain it's worth losing the flexibility, but I figured I'd ask what the rest of the internet was doing. So... Two weapons, or quick recharge?

Depends on the character. With my sentinel I prefer the flexibility of a sniper and assault rifle since I'm not generally expected to be a biotic powerhouse. Wheras with engineer and infiltrator I spec one weapon only. since having fast power recharges are life savers(especially infiltrator).

For my Vanguard, I use just a shotgun for maximum biotic charging, but I think that's a personal play style preference. Adept: 1 light weapons. Soldier: 2 weapons.
Haven't played much of the other classes yet

I'm a power spammer, so I always roll with 1. ARs for soldiers, sentinels, Engies, shotgun for vanguard, pistol for Adept and sniper for Infiltrator.

I run Vanguard with an Avenger and a Carnifex. I used to be lighter but Carnifex is just toooooo beast to pass up

Engineer with Avenger x (So, almost no penalty.)
Soldier with the same Avenger and a Predator VI.
The shotgun still too heavy, some upgrades and it will be okay.

I use the one weapon that works best for me with my characters powers.
I like sniper rifle for Adept because they are squishy so I want to keep distance while I set up warp bombs.
I use smg with charging vanguard because I find it easier to control than a shot gun. Once target is stunned, just circle strafe it to finish it off. Has a larger clp so you can deal with woever else is around.
Not sure about sentinal and engineer, I'm guessing I'll play them the way I play Adept.
Not sure about soldier. I have to find the gun that complements adrenaline. In ME2, that was sniper rifle and shotgun for me.

Vanguard here who's run with both a shotgun and pistol (Phalanx); my personal preference is the pistol alone with +200% recharge, because of how souped up my Charge/Nova is. Usually I can kill anything with those, and if that doesn't do it, a shot or two from the Phalanx often does. The range also comes in very handy when I'm trying to draw aggro from afar (but not necessarily trying to deal damage).
Of course, that's just the playstyle I prefer; a different build with a shotgun+pistol would work just as well, I'd imagine.

On my Sentinel (Level 18 right now) I stick with a Phalanx (Level 6). Every power has 5 points in it besides Throw (has none). On Bronze, just a Warp plus 1 headshot kills non-shielded enemies.

I always use one weapon every class. Recharge is most important to me

As a vanguard I just use a Carnifax. I was using a Katana, but I realized the Carnifax is almost as powerful, a lot more accurate and slightly lighter. It's ALL about recharge for me in that class

I usually just use one weapon since there are ammo stashes all over the map and if Its really dire I have tons of the spare ammo packs.

I only use pistol for my vanguard. I could practically charge every second.

1 weapon as a Vanguard or Sentinel. I found using the Revenant w/ a Vanguard to be extremely effective, whereas the Sentinel needs to lower those cooldowns.
Any other class, 2 weapons always, with the Adept being sometimes a single-weapon (Asari Adept is ALWAYS pistol-only).

I run my two engineers with Avenger II and the Shuriken VII
Krogan Soldier is a Katana shotty (don't know what level but it can go boom lol) and a side pistol just for backup.
Human Soldier I just have that same Avenger no secondary armament so my CS can be spammed hardcore lol recharge times are all short on my guys. I'll take the quick recharge time over the firepower

Only ever one weapon - namely a pistol. Good at most ranges and it gives you way more power uses.

Vanguard - Shuriken and Phalanx (200% bonus) I can keep a maxed out recharge bonus with two weapons and I never have to worry about running out of ammo. I rarely have to shoot, but when I do, I use the Phalanx as a primary and a heavily upgraded Shuriken as a back up.
Infiltrator - Mantis and Katana (20ish% bonus) With 1 free power usage during Cloak, all I have to worry about is Cloak's recharge timer which I've gotten down to shorter than the reload time of the Mantis in general. The weapons I have give me full coverage of the battlefield and let me play as both a ranged assassin and a CQC ninja. I love stealthing up to an enemy and putting a Proximity Mine at his feet and walking away.
Sentinel (Turian) - Revenant (80% bonus) The Turian Sentinel was built to carry the Revenant. My cooldowns are short enough that I have them when I need them (just over 6 seconds usually) and the Revenant with a scope, stabilizer and Turian passive upgrades can function well from both long range and close quarters.

With my vanguard, I only ever run around with a SMG (keeps my recharge at 200%). With Charge + Nova (and heavy melee), I rarely need to use my firearm. Shotguns, unfortunately, are too heavy for my character.
