I've had my fill of people leaving because I don't have a working headset.
Even if someonedoesn't have one, they still have ears. Sure, I won't be able to ask for help if I need it, but if a teammate asks for backup and I'm in a position to help, I do what I can.
Problem is that too many non-headset using players will ignore basic communication, much less getting yelled at because they would rather ignore someone saying they need backup. I'm sick of going into lobbies and seeing people that should be using headsets not working with the team because they wanna up with some other bunch of friends playing something else.
So by your reasoning, people shouldn't be allowed to play if they just want to have some fun, or cause they have IRL friends over? And there's no game where someone "should" use a headset. It's more helpful in some games than others, but never a requirement.
I've had plenty of non-headset matches(most of them) where the teamowrk is amazing. Just becaus esomeone doesn't have one, it doesn't automatically mean that they'll just screw around.
And people with headsets can be just as bad. More often than not someone with a headset will either not talk or just talk **** that has nothing to do with teamwork, such as "OMG AWESOME!!" or "hey, you steal mah kill!!!1"
So yeah, there are just as many headset users that don't help the team as non-headset ones.
